It's is believed to be a Union ship burned by our brethren at Ft. Morgan during the war of norther aggression.
The ship is about 150 feet and about 6 miles east of Ft.Morgan. Sadly,If someone does not do something soon the sea will reclaim her. Hopefully some history buff will come forward to claim her.
She is constructed from yellow pine and it appeared her hull was put together with pegs.
We think she had a steam engine .....there was alot of iron nail and spikes and pipe inside.
The ship was burned to the water line.It's a mystery ship, no one know it's name, the storm just left it's bones on the beach but it will be gone soon.

Funny how nature never forgets a good tale. Sometimes, she holds all the secrets, waiting for the perfect time to spin her tale. I hope someone can determine more of this most interesting tale.

Tammy & Kirby- I am so excited abotu this ship. Totally amazing how something in such destruction could be washed up in a Hurricane and gently laid out for the world to see. Absolutley amazing! I wish gas wasn't so high, I'd be on my way down to see it. Tammy-I can only hope that someone will and QUICK before the tide claims her.

We'd have won that war, if we would have had a better Navy.

WOW! I was having a conversation today with a lady about the beach at Fort Morgan. She said you could find MUCH better shells and sea treasures there. I guess she is right!
