Bama Gets Bumped ....Again

...........Here we go again.....I was out running some errands today when my friend Court called to tell me that the kids were being released from school early due to potential bad weather (thank goodness for Court!)."What! When?" "She said in thirty minutes, but that was about ten minutes ago. I sent you an email." So I tried to finish up my transaction, at the same time trying to call both Bama and Big Daddy, who had taken the day off. Bama did not answer his phone, so I called his friend D-Lid to see if he and Bama could wait at the bus stop and pick up the kids in case I didn't make it in time. They agreed. Meanwhile Big Daddy called, fresh out of the shower and agreed to head down to the bus stop. Then another call from Bama, "Mom? Are you ready for this? When I was in the school parking lot, a car hit me in the bumper.... The same one that was replaced last week. And, to top it off...the driver left the scene-but-D-lid and I got his tag, car make and can ID it."
I was furious at the insensitivity of the other driver, to not stop and make sure that all were OK. Nope, like a coward, he fled. According to Bama the kid (another student at PHS) was accelerating, and realized he needed to stop, hit the brakes and hydroplaned, hitting Bama's newly repaired car. Had the kid stopped I don't think I would be so mad. It is minor damage, with some paint scuffs and the bumper is warped around the taillight. And I am so happy that noone was hurt. I looks like we will be going back to Truman Fancher Auto Collision for yet another fix. Parents of up and coming teenage parents...here's a tip: PRAYER and Prozac and you too can get through the teen years with a smile.
