Open House- Sister Sledge's Room

HI! I am late getting things posted today. I have had back to back to back photo shoots and a wedding. Which is great....but I cannot seem to get caught up. Anyway.....I am happy to have you back to my "Open House" segments.
Today I am sharing the room of my only daughter and tween going on twenty....Sister Sledge.
It wasn't long ago that I redid her room. But I like change... which I knew so I didnt have to change the paint color. I am loving the color I have painted in much of my home. It is a greenish, greyish...it changes with the time of day and I like that because I do not tire of it. Its a "colored" neutral and it reminds me of the coast.

You can click here for the before picture of Sister Sledge's room.
(She likes that bedding but wanted something she can swap out for different looks)
And there was also this (which she learned to hate). It was to "grown up looking".
I will wait here until you come back for the "after"

Good! Alrighty then, now for a little something different. I wanted something feminine and cottagy. She wanted pink and green. And here is what we have in there...for now. Because women change their minds.

The bed was a find at an antique store. It was outside against a wall. I paid $75.00 for it and painted it a glossy white. The bedding was purchased on sale at Belks...MaryJane's Home Cottage Hill Bedding Collection.
The initials were found on seperate occassions to the Thrift. You might remember the sheet music wreath I made. It was perfect for Sister's room, who is a music nut (like her momma). (In fact that corner to the far left contains her guitar collection.....) I still have a crystal chandy to put up that I found for $25.00. And it is my hope to paint her ceiling the same as the walls. But hey, we're all friends here...right? I also have some curtains to put up...I have them-sheets I found at the thrift.  I will do that and hope to get in a post for the next week sometime.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
And be sure to check out my Outdoor Wednesday post direct from Pepper Place Market-it's eye candy!
Love!
Leigh

I love a room with a neutral background because then you can play around all you want with colors and patterns. This is such a cute room...perfect for a tween and even older. She just might want to hang on to all that you've decorated it with!

So perfect! I just love it. I bet she does too! Was the bed already that color or did you paint it? I just love it.

I love it! The wall color is really pretty, but still neutral and the bedding is awesome!

Leigh, her room is gorgeous and I can totally picture the crystal light fixture.

I would love to make a wreath like yours from sheet music but my little band nerd gets really offended when I "mess up perfectly good music" - HA! She actually rescued a music book that I was using for crafts.

I've read several of your posts in my Reader and I love the photos of your home. I need to follow your lead and do it as well.

Love you my friend!

So grown up, feminine - I love it! I know E. is proud of her new "digs" too!

Love it Leigh! I'm going to show this to Allie- we're stalled on her room because we haven't been able to come to "meeting of the minds". LOL :)

I LOVE the new look! The color choices aren't too far off of my own bedroom.

Her room is coming along quite nicely! It's so pretty. Great find on the bed and the bedding is so pretty too. Love the music sheet wreath above her bed too. Thanks, I love to see what others have done in their kid's bedrooms.

Just wanted to drop in and thank you for all your sweet comments, maybe we can meet up in B'ham one day! Hey, do you know the folks on Lake Martin who have the house with the big flag? We were going to ride over to Scrushy's place but decided to go over another day. My sister's place is directly across from Reel Island. Do ya'll have a place at Lake Martin?
