Sieved for the Soul

Country Home recently shared a great idea using kitchen sieves. It was just another idea from those ladies at Junk Market. In the same time it takes to catch a firefly, you can make this simple lantern using a retired kitchen sieve, scrapwood, screws, and an old canning jar. Keep an eye open for sives at flea markets and yard sales; if you are lucky you can snag them for as little as $5.00

(Country Living Magazine)
How: Seperate the sieve from it's stand. To create a stable platform for the candle first measure the diamter of the sieves circular open base. The, using a compass, draw the same size circle on a one inch thinck piece of scrap wood. Use the jigsaw to cut out the circle. Insert the wood base and secure the metal frame with screws. Turn the sieve upside down and place it on top of the metal frame. Put a candle in an unlidded glass jar and surround with sand or small pebbles. With the candle lit, place the jar on the lantern and enjoy the candlelight dancing beneath the metal mesh. Ah, yes....It is well with my soul.

HI Leigh, I really like this idea. Thanks. I think I have seen sieves, but wondered what I would do with it! You know how you pause, don't buy it, but later see it in blogland and think "Now why didn't I think of that?" Hahaha...I'm guilty of this!
Great post. Hope you are having a great week!
Blessings,
Debbie
