Let me just say, Encore is 17,000 square feet of of consigned furniture, antiques, home decor items, clothing, toys, shoes and jewelry. I found the prices to be hit and miss. While some items seemed pricey, there were others that were what I considered to be bargains. It's a store that you need to spend time to search for those thrifty treasures. Perfect to take in on a rainy day.
I thought I would give you a little look around......Beginning with this autumn tablescape on an vintage table:
For my Tablescape friends, who week after week inspire me to attempt to improve on my table setting skills...
I found this white clapboard antique cabinet charming.
We found Collegite Items. These plates started at $6.00. High Mae, an Arkansas graduate, purchased a Razor Back mug for $10.00.
Rustic Wine Holder. I have seen many of these in blogland and am intrigued by their rustic beauty. I love the wood. But alas, I am not a wine drinker. Maybe I could put my beloved vinegars in the holes....
I fell in love with this antique child's rattan rocker. It was $25.00, which I though was a bargain, but I just couldn't think of anywhere to put it. :(
This needlepoint piece, Moulin Rouge, was both colorful and interesting. What a statement it would make in a room.
I thought of my friend, Kristin of The Goat and her grandmother's sewing machine that she recently featured on her blog, when I saw this beautiful machine.
Finally this sweet glass topped table with tiny claw feet is sooo precious. I may have to go back and get it!

Before I go, I wanted to wish someone that is very special to me a Happy Birthday, and that would be my momma, Sharon. She's my roadtrip buddy, my best friend and one of the best cooks I know (I rip off her recipes all the time). Thank you Mom, for always being there. Happy Birthday to you! I love you and am blessed to call you my Mom!

When I was in Gulf Shores, AL a few weeks back my mom and I went through a few consignment shops. I haven't found anythign like it here in Jacksonville, FL. Is this an Alabama thing? You all seem to have a lot of wonderful thrift and consignment places.
Hey look! It's a treadle! Thanks for linking to my post - you're so sweet. Love that Moulin Rouge...in needlepoint?! Wow. The things found in a thrift store.

I hope that your mom has a fabulous birthday!
I need to get out more because you find the coolest places. I doubt there are any like that here, but until I get off of my rear, I will never know!
Happy Birthday to your mom!!
I love those colorful dishes on the vintage table. I can hear them calling my name, all the way up here in Missouri!
Greetings Leigh~I'm finally back from my summer long blogcation.
Happy Birthday Sharon!! I hope your B-day was filled with many *Sweet Surprises*!
Wouldn't it be interesting to know the history behind these treasures, especially the Moulin Rouge needlepoint! That would be such a huge undertaking. I can't imagine the time and patience it took to stitch such a masterpiece. I think it would make a fun piece of art for a home theater room.
The tapestry chair would have been my purchase of the day, it's beautiful!
I've enjoyed catching up. Please stop by...I look forward to the return of your company.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
Oh I must go if I ever again get to leave my house with all the illness that keeps striking! Happy Birthday to your MOM! Can we thank her for bringing up one of the most amazing women I have ever gotten to call friend?
Happy Birthday, Mom of Leigh!
Love that shop! So many pretties!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thank you, to each of you, for all the b'day greetings!! Leigh's blogger friends are such wonderful friends to her, and to me!! I thank my God for the 63 years he has given me....the precious gift of life. And, thank you, to you, my precious daughter, another gift from above. My little buddy and friend....I love to be with you.
Sorry the "thank you" is overdue, my computer crashed and burned!
Again, thanks for the comments!
Love,
