Just Saying...ok Asking....

Hey Friend! Yeah, YOU! I am heading home from a quick beach trip, before I have to go later this week to take my son, Bama to college at , well you know....BAMA. Sniff, sniff. Please pray for me.

But I have an even bigger prayer, and it isnt for me. ...Please pray for Garrett. He is a friend of my two youngest children, Sister Sledge and J Smooth. Garrett is scheduled to have surgery on August 7th. Doctors have found a tumor in his brain. I cannot imagine, as a mother the heavy burden that has been laid upon this family. But I also know they are a family of great faith, and Garrett has been the biggest crusader of them all, demonstrating his faith in God and putting all his trust in Him. Please stop, say a prayer for Garrett, if you will. I would greatly appreciate it. You can read more about Garrett by going here.
Because I am away, I will not participate in Outdoor Wednesday....but I will be back on Wednesday night for Thrifty Thursday. I hope to see you all return.

I want to thank you for dropping by. Your friendships, comments and kindness mean so much to me. Mmore than you could ever know. I am so behind in commenting back promptly, between preparing Bama for college, helping to plan a benefit concert and tending to Peg, who is still with us. (She remains in hospice but we moved her into a nursing home which has been such a blessing). I have gotten so far behind on my chores and my blog. But, I read every single comment and feel blessed at you taking the time to come by, read and comment. I am blessed by your friendship. Thank you. I promise to be back in the swing soon. School is soon to start (wink).

So, come back tonight and link up for Thrifty Thursday! See you then. And again, sincere thanks!!

Evening, Leigh! Oh, yes, I will pray for Garret! There is such power in prayer! You take care of yourself. I get overwhelmed sometimes too and just have to stop for a git!
I have certainly enjoyed getting to know you in Blogland.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

Of course!!!! I have been praying since you emailed me. I can't imagine what his family must be feeling either.

My post is scheduled for 12:00 AM (I feel more confident about it now that you have posted a prayer request). Praying is an opportunity to fellowship with the Lord while lifting Garrett before the throne - an honor really.

And for your family... Hang in there Momma. Don't you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment at seeing your son head to U of A? I know you do!! Best of luck to Bama and prayers for you all as your family makes the adjustment.

My little one will start Kindergarten in 5 days.A differentjourney than your son but almost the same as it is a new beginning for both.

Enjoy moving your son to college. When mine all started their freshman year, they didn't want us to go with them. So we packed their stuff into their cars, and off they went to Arkansas, 9 1/2 hours away.

I will remember Garrett in prayer, as well as you taking your son to college. I understand about being behind too. That happens to me quite often. : )

You can only do so much, so don't worry about us. You have more important things to deal with! I'm praying for you, and also Garret and his family.

I know since Bama is your first to fledge, this is difficult for you - - - but for me, and old pro at knocking them out of the nest (hehehehehe) I'm EXCITED to hear all his Crimson Tide fun. I'm going to be WATCHING the crowds at the Bama FB games searching for his little ole face. Maybe he'd hold up a sign once or twice that says, "HELLO TO MAMA'S FB LOVIN' BLOGGER BUDDIES" just so I can pick him out!

Will pray for Garret (and for you!). So scary. I had a friend this year with a brain tumor (benign), she had major headaches when they discovered it... now I have a cousin with one. But, my friend had her surgery, and she's COMPLETELY FINE now. So, know that all will work out. Pray, pray.

Our love and prayers are with Garrett and his family! What a story on caring bridge, it gave me goose bumps. My prayer is that he and his family will constantly be surrounded by God's love and amazing glory and that he will have an unbelievable testimony to share! I am claiming that right now in the mighty name of Jesus!!!
AMEN
