Thrifty Thursday #28 and a Tablescape

Hi there, my friends!! It's #28 of our Thrifty Thursday!
Thanks for dropping by! I really appreciate all of you playing along in Thrifty Thursday. It is enjoyable to see what treasures all of you find. Not to mention the biggest treasure-meeting you and discovering some fabulous blogs! That's the best part!
A quick recap of Thrifty Thursday, for those who may be new to the idea....Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find.
Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!

I found this small cement bust, whom I call Martha Anne, for less than $5.00 at a outdoor nursery. It was on clearance. The necklace, was courtesy of my daughter. It is actually one of our dog's collar's that Sister Sledge place on the "Martha Anne" but I liked it on her so I left it.

And the books....all collected from thrift stores, the Life Saving and Water Safety was given to me by my friend Diva. A find from her mother's home. I just love old books! I love to use them in decor.

Now for my thrifty Tablescape...

I used a potted African violet as my centerpiece.

The dishes are actually two different sets.
The larger is a Homer Laughlin, Virginia Rose pattern.

The smaller one is by Nautilus in the pattern is Eggshell.

All of my dishes, inherited. The glassware is by Mikassa. Wedding gifts.
I encourage you to visit my friend Susan of Between Naps on the Porch for some great Tablescape Thursday participants.

I invite you to visit PLATES AND PLACES for Southern Staples and my Friday Foodie Friday.
Thank you so very much for joining in Thrifty Thursday today! I treasure your friendships and comments. I truely do.

I also love old books! Sometimes I get carried away with them. Right now it's cookbooks. Books are fun to read, swap, share, give, and decorate with! And you never know what you may find within those pages from a previous owner!

Hi Leigh. I think the bust is fantastic! The books cracked me up, because I have that same Life saving and water safety book. I always think it's funny, because there are a few tips in there that seem a bit scary. I have another that's green and it's first aid. That one is much scarier in some of its' siggestions. ;)
Happy to be joing ya' this week.
XOXO
