Today's post is a powerful message, one that is the brainchild of my dear friend, Jen of Dust Bunny Hostage. Her Daughter, referred to as Diva Daughter, read a review in the Wall Street Journal about the latest Harry Potter movie. It was not positive and she was disappointed. She gave a lengthy monologue about the negative things she had read. Dust Bunny Hostage walked her over to the computer, clicked New Post on her blog, and told her to "have at it"(you can find that post HERE).
When she was verbally sharing her opinion, Diva Daughter stated"when she becomes president in 2032, she will instate Positive Day. She claimed it will be a day for people to think about the things they are thankful for and to share the things that make them happy."
It was another blogger,Travis , who urged her to state now, and so began the birth of "Positive Day." It's a day to Count your blessings. Tell why you are thankful. And CHOOSE to "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative."

I AM POSITIVE.
I believe in attitude is a choice. My glass runneth over.
I am a wealthy person....in the things that matter most: Family, Friends, Health.
But above even these, my salvation. My salvation is my Foundation of the person I am. Without that foundation, I would crumble-hopeless.
I am grateful for the jobs my husband and I have. Days we might like to complain and then to turn on the news, it is obvious that our jobs are blessings. They provide for our daily needs-our home, food on our table, education, and the things that come with those. Go to any country, including parts of our own and one will find that these are such blessings-and often times taken for granted.
I am blessed for my family-My incredible partner, husband and best friend-my children who make me laugh and live through a child's eyes daily. They keep me young. For the family I was born into and the upbringing I had. For my extended family and the blessings they are to me.

My friends. They are my support. My comfort. My joy. My constant. Faithful and true.
This includes the so many kind bloggers, who are actually strangers but are friends. They lend me support and laughter on a daily basis through visits and comments to my blog.
I am grateful for music. For Dance. For words. For my senses to experience these things.

I am happy for the person who lets me merge in traffic, they didnt have to. They could've been rude.
The person who covers their mouth when they cough because I dont like to share every things....like germs.
Little things like that.
My reliable car. It gets me where I need to go.
For my puppies that who love me unconditionally. I am pretty certain *almost* as much as God himself. They love me when I am wrong or right.
Diva Daughter-for coming up with such a POSITIVE idea! You are a breath of freshair-and a big heart-just like your momma!
For the people who protect us daily: The military, the police and fire departments, government offices who make decisions regarding we the people daily.
Prayer. For because of it, I am certain I am here today. I walk and breath and am healthy because of prayer.
And these are just a FEW of the reasons that I wake up everyday THANKFUL, POSITIVE and happy.
Because smiles are contagious. Go ahead......SPREAD a SMILE.For more POSITIVITY go to Jen's Blog: Dust Bunny Hostage.-it's yet another blessing in my life.
Hugs!

Leigh, you are truly blessed. I am thankful for your Salvation as well as it makes us Sisters in Christ!
Thank you SO much for being a part of Positive Day. I love you for it. Well, I'd love you anyway but I do so appreciate you for posting.
Have a lovely weekend and be blessed!
Your cup really does runneth over! You must be such a blessing to everyone around you!
What a great idea!!
Amen! I love positive day. It makes all the difference in your day to day life when you choose to be positive.
Great post Leah !
So true- said about being positive...I try to be positive because, I think not being positive is being "self destructive". I don't read movie reviews because, they like to write on the negative and I think everyone has the right to their own thoughts..I have read about such reviews in the past and loved the movie - so, I just don't read them anymore (reviews). I also don't watch the news....rarely - I read along time ago that if there is something important going on, you will know... then go to find out about it- News is negative for the most part or gossip (I believe gossip is shunned in the Bible..) I could go on and on...I better stop - I am not one for words....
Hugs ~ Kammy
p.s. I think I will have to give your Thrifty Thursday a try soon - those super Huge MeMe's are just a little crazy :o)

You are awesome Leigh! Man, I really need to visit more so I can use this positive reading! Trying to keep up this summer is brutal, with my studying and all. You keep up your attitude, that's why I love hanging out with you.
Take care-will visit again soon!

you have mentioned some exceptionally wonderful things!
I'm grateful for people who cover their mouth when they cough too. That's a good one!
Or lives are better than we think, aren't they? Praise God!
I think a lot of us are positive about the same kinds of things. We just need to make it a point to dwell on these things that make us happy.
It is amazing how fast your mood changes when you start listing the positives instead of focusing on the negative.
I am the luckiest girl in the world because of all of the great and creative people that I have met online. I just don't know what I would do without people like you Leigh. You get me out of my shell in so many ways!
Hi Leigh!
Isn't it heart warming to find out that once we get started listing the positive things in our lives, we can keep on finding them?
Happy Positive Day!
Thank you for letting us in on your "blessing count!" Sometimes I lose sight of my blessing--I have much to be thankful for in spite of my little upsets. Thanks for helping me focus! C
Great positive list. I'm so enjoying reading all of these. Happy Positive Day, 2009 :)
Awesome! I wish every day were Positive Day. The world would be a better place.
