Song Lyrics

Remember this post, about song lyrics that one can flub up. My brother in law, "the Artist", still sings Fat Bottom Girls, Flat Bottom Girls. To. This. Day.
Last night was a girls night at my "fran" "High May's" house. We had a great time, turning up the satellite radio and dancing and singing in her kitchen. Showing our age, "Love will Keep us Together" by Captain and Tenille came on and brought the house down, each of us standing, dancing and singing every word. Like a scene in a movie, that somewhat disturbed High May's sweet hubby who came into the kitchen shortly before retiring to bed. But it was another song that we all questioned.
This one.... Blinded by the Light

Madman drummers bummers and indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder feelin kinda older I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing the calliope crashed to the ground
Some all-hot half-shot was headin for the hot spot snappin his fingers clappin his hands
And some fleshpot mascot was tied into a lovers knot with a whatnot in her hand
And now young scott with a slingshot finally found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand
And some bloodshot forget-menot whispers daddys within earshot save the buckshot turn up the band
And she was blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tight, but shell make it alright
Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
He says: dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in its funny bone, thats where they expect it least
And some new-mown chaperone was standin in the corner all alone watchin the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin with his frozen zone to remind him of the feeling of romance
Yeah he was blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
He got down but she never got tight, but hes gonna make it tonight
Some silicone sister with her managers mister told me I got what it takes
She said Ill turn you on sonny to something strong if you play that song with the funky break
And go-cart mozart was checkin out the weather chart to see if it was safe to go outside
And little early-pearly came in by her curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Oh, some hazard from harvard was skunked on beer playin backyard bombardier
Yes and scotland yard was trying hard, they sent a dude with a calling card,
He said, do what you like, but dont do it here
Well I jumped up, spit in the air, fell on the ground, asked wich was the way back home
He said take a right at the light, keep going straight until right, and then boy youre on your own
And now in zanzibar a shootin star was ridin in a side car hummin a lunar tune
Yes, and the avatar said blow the bar but first remove the cookie jar, were gonna teach those boys to laugh too soon
And some kidnapped handicap was complaining that he caught the clap from some mousetrap he bought last night
Well I unsnapped his skull cap and between his ears I saw a gap but hed figured hed be all right
He was just blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun
Oh but mama thats where the fun is

While we all thought the lyric was "Wrapped up like a douche another runner in the night", we could not figure out what in the world that meant. Our friend "the diva" had a great demonstration visual that I couldn't even begin to describe. Besides this is a PG Blog. But in the end we still never could understand the meaning of the sentence. Much less the song.
After looking up the words when I got home, I see it is actually"Cut loose like a deuce". Still, someone explain ("Splane") to me what that means. Inquiring minds and all....

And while we are on the subject, what song lyrics do you flub up and sing wrong?

Can't think of any on me right now, but my daughters both really flub up the words to the current pop song "Low" by Flo-rida.

My oldest one rides horses and wears spurs....so she used to think the song said boots with the spurs instead of fur! LOL!

OMG!! That is what I always thought it said to, the douche part and never could figure it out. That is so funny.

Charnita- Proud to be educating the few on useless information. Though now, I will not embarrassingly be singing about a douche and neither will you. LOL!

Tonya-Now that's cute!

that whole song is pretty easy to flub... can't remember details but deuce is a car reference ? Years ago I was certain Elton John was singing "She's got electric boobs her ma has too" in Benny and the Jets

I actually thought it was "wrapped up like a douche and roll it over in the night"....LOL! I have been singing it like that since I was about 8!
And what the heck does the song mean even with the right lyrics?

There is a great web-site that you can read lyrics to any song.....it is lyrics.astraweb.com. I have to use it often!

I love the song lyric websites, and this is one of the all time worst songs for lyric flubbing!

I remember when I was a kid, we always used to snicker about that "wrapped up like a douche". But it didn't take long for an older kid to give us the correct lyric.

Travis, Sadly enough, no one ever told me and my friends. We are in our late 30's early 40's and have been singing douche for far to long. Embarrassing.

it's "deuce," not douche. sad but true. I was much happier before I found that out.
