Thursday Thirteen. Southern Expressions. I could do a few of these. I have some family members (you know who you are) that I could write an entire Southern Expression Dictionary based on things that comes from their mouths.
Here is a Thursday Thirteen of some good "Southern Expressions"....
1."Won't hit a lick at a snake" = Lazy~~
2. "Burr in your saddle" = Angry~~
3."You better give your heart to Jesus, 'cause your butt is mine." = The fight is on!~~
4."Hotter than blue blazes" = one step below "hotter than hell"~~
5."Duck Fit" = one step above a "hissy fit"~~
6."Dying Duck Fit" = one step above a "duck fit"~~
7."Knickers in a knot" = Ticked off and on the edge of a "hissy fit"
8."Country as a turnip green"~~
9. "Drunk as a farmer"~~
10."Sober as a judge"~~
11."I'm hotter than a four-peckered billy goat."~
12."I'm so hungry I could eat the a** end out of a rag doll."~
13."I'm so hungry I could eat the north end of a south-bound goat."~
and just for good measure...and because it is already so dang hot outside...."I'm sweatin' like a pregnant nun."
Happy Thursday Thirteen!
