Not Another Greasy Spot

On the way home from the kids safety class, this little guy was seen in the road of a county highway. A cement truck just barely missed making him a greasy spot in the road. I pulled my car over and got out and picked up this (very mad) box turtle before he was road kill. We took him home and released him into the woods in my backyard. I was happy to get on with his travels. I understand he is on his way to see Dust Bunny Hostage, lover of all reptiles. LOL!
"Happy Trails to you!"

For someone that is such a germaphobe you seem to have no problems when it comes to animals.

Zinna- Not even a little. I helped my dogs deliver pups, I stop to make sure if I see an animal in the road-that it is indeed dead. One night I cameupon a opossum and it was indeed dead, but the belly was moving. BABIES IN THE POUNCH! So at midnight, there I was along, in the middle of a road reaching my hand into the pouch of a dead possum to rescue babies. I got 9! 3 died but 6 lived.
I am a multicomplex person. Without a doubt.

Ok, just say it, I am strange...but that's just me.

Giants fan- I have not heard it was, I sure hope so!

I think that is great what you did. I have never been an animal lover until I met Jason and now having 4 snakes, 2 dogs and a new bearded dragon I have to say I have such a soft spot for all animals. I can't stand to see any animal hurt. That is so funny about you saving the babies from the opossum. I am curious, what did you do with the babies after you pulled them out?

ACK! No! Please no! I am glad he isn't smushed but I don't want him HERE. Dust Bunnies, I can handle. Reptiles? Uh-Uhn.

You really are one brave chick!

Kristy- I took them (in a dixie cup-that is all I had in my car and they were that small that they fit) to Oak Mountain Wildlife Rescue. They just happened to have a female opossum that had been attacked by a dog in the hospital. She was on the mend. BAbaies in her pouch too. She had room in her pouch for the six. The other three the center tried to bottle feed but that didn't make it.
SO I guess sometime a opossum is in someones trash they have me to thank. No phone calls, please.

I knew you would love that Jen. LOL!
