Thrifty Thursday #138 + a Tablescape!

Hi! It's Thrifty Thursday! I am your host, Leigh. Thank you so much for stopping by and additional thanks to those who also participate in Thrifty Thursday! I am most delighted to have you join in..for it's YOU who makes it a "show and tell party".

(You can click on any pictures for a closer view)

*Thrifty Thursday takes place each Thursday and is hosted here at Tales from Bloggeritaville, but the party is a progressive one, visit the links to see all the Thrifty Thursday links to see the thrifty treasures participating bloggers have to share.

*Don't forget to copy and paste the Thrifty Thursday logo button to your computer so you can add it to your side bar and your Thrifty Thursday post. That way visitors will know that your are participating in Thrifty Thursday.

I recently had the chance to visit one of my favorite places: Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro.
Not that Im comparing myself to Oprah.
Certainly not.
Unclaimed Baggage is where your stuff, and others people stuff end up when airports loose luggage.
Yep.
On person's misfortune and irritation is another persons treasure and joy.
Or so they say.
Anyway, on this day I found this painting for my mother (lover of horses)....

It is painted on canvas. Its approx. 2x3 feet.

I looked it up. Its by an artist from New Orleans. His work is sold and featured in Jackson Square, as well as local art galleries in and around NOLA.
I couldnt determine it's value on the street, in the frenchmarket. But we paid $6.88 for it.
Certainly as steal!

In another local thrift shop we came across these Russian nesting eggs that are all Santa's.
They were $3.00 each!

LOVE them!

And THAT is the Thrifty Thursday post for this week...

What "CHEW" got?

Tablescape Thursday:

Something earthy. Something natural. Something fallish.

Hammered silver plates.
For the charger....how about sliced logs?
And the placemat, made of rocks!

I encourage you to visit my friend Susan of Between Naps on the Porch for some great Tablescape Thursday participants.

I would also like to  invite you to stop by my food blog, PLATES & PLACES, for Foodie Friday!

Thanks to all of you for stopping by and participating in today's Thrifty Thursday. Please use Mr. Linky below to link up your blog.
I encourage you all to spread the love and visit the other thrifty Thursday participants, for that's what half the fun is. Aside from seeing a cool treasure it's making friends!

Next week, I will be right back here hosting Thrifty Thursday so join me!

Thanks for hosting another wonderful link party! I've missed chatting with you.
I can't wait to go check some of these links out. I linked up two projects from my week this week-the Split Pea Soup and my DIY Spinning Composter Video. Hope that's ok to do! Have a great (early) weekend. Mine starts today and lasts until next week. WOOHOO!

Oh I have so very much catching up to do.

To explore an unclaimed baggage store is one of my thrifty dreams.
