Thrifty Thursday # 60, plus a Tablescape

Hi! It's Thrifty Thursday! I am your host, Leigh. Thank you so much for stopping by and additional thanks to those who also participate in Thrifty Thursday! I am most delighted to have you join in..for it's YOU who makes it a "show and tell party". I also participate in Tablescape Thursday the host of that fun carnival is the Hostess with the Mostess...Susan of Between Naps on the Backporch. That's no lie or exaggeration, each week I visit Susan's porch and just long to be a guest at any of her tablescapes...especially those held on the porch.

(You can click on any pictures for a closer view)

*Thrifty Thursday takes place each Thursday and is hosted here at Tales from Bloggeritaville, but the party is a progressive one, visit the links to see all the Thrifty Thursday links to see the thrifty treasures participating bloggers have to share.

*Don't forget to copy and paste the Thrifty Thursday logo button to your computer so you can add it to your side bar and your Thrifty Thursday post. That way visitors will know that your are participating in Thrifty Thursday.

I was shopping recently in one of my favorite stores, At Home in Homewood. I know you are surprised. I saw these lamps and fell in love with the shades and thought what a wonderful Thrifty Thursday project that they would make.

Now I am on the prowl for some feed sacks, or I may have to make my own using painters drop cloths. The base of the lamps can easily be painted and aged to achieve a similar look. Almost zinc like. Stay tuned. The At Home lamps cost close to a couple hunrder a piece. I am certain I can recreate these for far less!

Now, onto to Tablescape Thursday, which is hosted by Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

While in At Home, I saw this pretty Tablescape that I thought I would share. This one features all products found At Home.

What is a tablescape without the food?
I invite you to stop by my food blog, PLATES & PLACES. Tomorrow I will announce a foodie giveaway...something you will want in your kitchen! You can click here to find out more. You will NOT want to miss this one!

Thanks to all of you for stopping by and participating in today's Thrifty Thursday.

Please use Mr. Linky below to link up your blog. Please leave a comment after linking. I love to hear from you.I encourage you all to spread the love and visit the other thrifty Thursday participants, for that's what half the fun is. Aside from seeing a cool treasure it's making friends!

Thank you, all, FRIENDS! I appreciate YOU!

I don't see any other comments. Either they're being edited or those other bloggers before me didn't leave a comment like they were told to! Bad, bad bloggers!

Yay, it's Thursday again! I am so excited--I'm totally addicted to TT. Can you tell lol?

Well, I dropped by to say hello and link up. LOVE the lamp shades--they'd look great in my office, where I went with a Paris Fashion theme. :) Can I have 'em? I kid, but they do look fabulous! Can't wait to see your end result. I'm sure it will be inspiring.

Have a Happy Thursday!

Thanks, Leigh, for hosting this, it's so much fun to join in on the fun today. I think you can make those lamps and shades yourself. I have wanting to make the shades like them that PB has, I have lamps with similar bases to those you found, I just might be making those in the near future, too. Nice tablescape, those place mats would be soooo easy to make! Thank you for the inspiration today! Hugs, Cindy S

Thanks for hosting the party - I love seeing what everyone is creating. I used to live in Helena, AL, too and loved to visit all the shops Homewood.

Hi Leigh! I'm looking forward to your duplicating those lovely lamps you saw -- very cool. :-)
And I love the placemats in the tablescape from At Home -- they remind me of something from my childhood and i can't think what! Oh well-- I'll probably wake up at 3am and remember.

I saw very similar lampshades to these just today. They were in a very high-end home decor shop and priced at $195.00 each, for just the shade! I love going to this shop because they have such unusual things. I never buy anything I just find things to copy.

Hello Leigh ~I've truly missed my visits, but little by little I'm catching up.
Although last month was difficult with our loses a new month has brought new hope.
I poured myself a cup of tea and read a spell...I was just thinking about doing a post on repurposed drop cloths and stenciling. The lamps are the perfect accent. The lamp bases pair well with the shades.

I'm so excited to see spring blooms popping up. I look forward to applying the inspirational palette of colors into a few projects for decorating and gifts, with a little cooking in between.
Don't you love the aroma that fills the air during this season?
It's definitely invigorating.

Sweet wishes,
Sara
