'Round these parts our "Outdoors" we have been feeling the effects of what is now "Tropical Storm" Ida.
Though I am four hours from the gulf, we can still feel her calling. Take a looks from the scenes of Ida rocking my town, the city of Helena, Alabama.....
Here is The Creek and waterfall. Usually there is a much bigger drop of the falls, today, just a "bump".
The water rushes under the transporation bridge. Usually there is a strip of land under that bridge, a small island. Today, no island.
This is the are in which you can get to the island. Today you would be swept away if you attempted it.
The area is roped off. Again, usually the land in this area drops, today it is water level across, with no land.
This is a horse pasture, though today it is a small lake. If you are from the area, this is the pasture next to Fox Valley Restaurant.
My friend Jen, of Dust Bunny Hostage, lives very close to the gulf. Be sure and check out her pictures that she took of Ida in the Gulf. (Jen's post will run on Wed.)
Stay Dry!I do so hope you will come back tomorrow for Thrifty Thursday. Whether you link up, or just drop by as a guest, I always enjoy you visiting.

Wow! I can't believe the park is so flooded! I have never seen it like that!
Hi Liegh! Oh, I was wondering if you would get some of this weather. Those are pretty scary photos! Stay safe!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
WoW! I thought of you earlier today. I was not sure where you were, and was hoping you and your family was ok.

Lots of water! Thanks for sharing these pictures and stay dry!
Lots of water!! But we didn't get as much as I thought we would!
Leigh, I wish you could send us the rain. We need it! And I hope you all stay safe.
Happy OW to you...
XO,
Sheila :-)
I think Ida dumped more water on you all than it did down here in South Alabama. WOW at all that flooding!
Thanks for the link Leigh!
Wow I didn't realize you lived in Alabama! I am from Birmingham! I grew up off 280 Brook Highland area and now my parents live in Indian Springs! I now live right outside of Opelika! We have mini rivers around here too from all the rain!
....yesterday, dear man of mine and I walked the gulf shores....600 miles from Ida, and saw some damaging effects. Tho a tropical storm she played havoc so far, far away too.
[I got some pictures of our area during Ida's landfall...in TEXAS and hope to get them off the camera by Monday's post. LOL]
My O W is a nearby marshland with waterfowl and Autumn colors...and a surprise L N Monster visit!!!
Come by and see
My oh my, a bit scary.. take care!
I explored the Jogging trail this time.
Hi Leigh, you may get two comments from me. Got a strange message after the first attempt.
Anyway, I'm glad Ida chilled out. I was worried about all of you along the gulf coast when I heard she was a hurricane. Still lots of water to deal with though. Stay dry!
Hugs,
Dawn
The weather has been icky lately. You are seeing lots of water there and it looks like the poor horses have lost their pasture for awhile.
That is a lot of water.
Yes, that is where all of our rain yesterday came from. I'v live where we had flooding like that. It is scary to see water moving that quickly where once there was land.

Wow, that is a of water! We are seeing the ugly side of Ida today. cold, wind, and rain. I am staying indoors today!
Your photos are a powerful reminder of the force of water. Thanks for sharing them with us. Stay dry! Have a great Outdoor Wednesday.
wow, that's a lot of water! i'm still haunted by water.
That is a frightening amount of water and to think it could get worse... Living in the desert, we don't see that much water in our backyards.
Stay dry! Have a great rest of the week!

Whoa! Ida has not been nice to you folks. Not at all!
Looks like you received a lot of water. We had rain and high winds but no flooding.
Take care.

That is a lot of water! If you would like to send it here to CA, that would be fine:)
Goodness, that is alot of water. It's scary how fast it can rise. Hope your pretty park is back to normal soon and that there is not too much damage. Kathy
Unfortunately sites like that have been pretty common with this rainy weather we've had here in Alabama over the past several weeks. This has been the rainiest fall.
I am amazed! The weather seems to be kicking things up every where, we had two feet of freak snow here to early for it.
Goodness, that's some water you've got there. It's always interesting to me to see how quickly the landscape can change when the water is rising.
