Inspire Me.

My friend Tricia is hosting Inspire My Staurday. Tricia descibes it as this, "Inspire My Saturday is a weekly (mostly) feature that I do here at Life at the Zoo to share some of the things that have touched my heart, made me laugh, made me think, and just plain inspired me over the past week."
I gotta admit, this was a tough week for various reasons. Stress. I usually try my best to try to allow to roll off my tailfeathers-for I am no differnt.... everyone has stresses. I also go into hiding, because I HATE for people to see me in  a rotten mood. Rotten moods can be contageous, as I tell my children often, so when  I feel one coming on- I hide. Most have stresses that I am fortunate to not have or have ever known, and I try and remember that when things begin to feel overwhelming. I am truly grateful for my life. I truly am. (TY God)
That being said, this week my inspiration came through music.
Music can instantly put me in another mood. In another place. And I like it. I love it (and gosh that in itself makes me start singing a certain song...do you know the one?)
So when things began to bubble over, I put on some music and drove down the road and sang as loudly as I could.
Another thing that is an instant inspiration....sunshine! It can transform my attitude. So as I sang loudly, I rolled my windows down (it was in the 70's this week) and allowed the music and the sunshine to pour over me, envelope me, and I soaked it up.
Life is Good. And I am blessed. And inspired by the little things. For it's the little things that really matter in the grand scheme of things.
Thanks for dropping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Sing*Dance* and truly LIVE
HUGS!

Hi Leigh.
Thank you so much for joining me this week. I'm so with you on so many points here. First of all, it's been a long (stressful) week here too. I tend to try to hide away when I feel that way as well. If mama's not happy, nobody's happy. That's not exactly a good family dynamic.:( Music realy is amazing, isn't it? It can transport you to another place entirely. Maybe that's why I've been messing with my player and posting music clips all week. lol. I didn't even put it together. ;)

Here's to a restful, fun weekend!

How sweet of you to not take out your stress on others or let yourself be by others, in your case, your kids. Children see enough of the negative as it is. And you mke a conscious effort to improve your mood rather than wallowing in it You are the best!! And now you have inspired me!

I need a little inspiration this week too. The sun is shining and I have been outside trying to soak up some vitamins so I can shake this nasty cold. Hope your weekend goes well. Stop by, I finally posted! I got to visit the Southern Living Idea House this year, as it is right up the road (okay, it was 35 minutes away) but for us, it was close enough.

Have a good one!

Oh, yes, as it has been said...music surely can "soothe the savage beast"...

It is great to listen to uplifting, up-beat tunes!

Blessings & aloha!

(Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your sweet comment! These days, I find myself behind in blog reading! And I do have a show next Sat...so pretty much from now until Christmas, a lot of time is spent with making sure I get these orders completed in time for Christmas...

Oh...wanted to also say... Your profile picture is awesome!)

Awesome post, Leigh! And a great reminder. I'm like you - I try to not spread my stress and frustration around - but it's hard. Thanks for the inspiration!!

It usually is those small things isn't it? Sometimes I'm looking so hard for something exciting that I miss the things that really make me happy!

I have been way too over stressed the past weeks really months myself. Partly due to my job restructuring after 13 years. All of a sudden there are 110 of us relocated and feeling like we are on the outside looking in along with not being wanted. But you know God never deals us more than we can handle....Big Hugs, thanks for stopping in to visit today and also thank you for stopping by to visit my friend at The Shepherds Fold! Janna

It is the little things and I'm so glad to find someone else who can find such happiness in music and sunshine. Thanks for the info about the books. I'll be looking for these.
