Let There Be White

Today is the Let There Be White (Part II) event, hosted by Kathleen. The idea is for a white tablescape = one color to the table. For example-white dishes, but one other color for flowers, napkins, glassware, whatever. OR all white is that's fine too.
I decided to go all white, except for the small flowers stiched in my tabelcloth, which was made by a family member. I thought since the stitches are so tiny i will give me a buy. Kathleen?

My tablescape is thrift too. Everything was either given to me or purchased at the thrift store or yard sales.

All with exception of the knives, one set of forks and my sea shell bowl and serving dish, which was a clearance bargain at TJ Maxx ($4.00) . The mother of pearl serving pieces were a bonus buy from a Southern Living at Home party.

The plates are all mismatched ironstone thrift finds.

I love to collect white dishes, ones of differnt shapes and designs and put them together.
The white linen napkins were inheirited.
The starfish...a nod to my love of the sea.
The napkin ring, a child's bracelet.
One of my favorite finds is the white ironstone oyster dish seen below in the far right corner. I just love it!

To see more of the white tablescapes visit Kathleen.

For more Tablescapes visit my friend, Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

Hi Leigh...

Oooh...what a gorgeous white tablescape! You know, I have seen two or three white tablescapes today where the white dishes are a mixture of different shapes and patterns...I love, love, LOVE the effect!!! I am rethinking my purchasing ways now...I will be looking for singular white pieces and hopefully one day, I will be able to create a fabulous table such as yours!!! I also love that you added the little white starfish...they were the first thing to catch my eye...so pretty!!! Leigh, the embroidered cloth is really beautiful...I love it with your table setting! Ohhh my...can you just imagine all the time that went into stitching that! Priceless!!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful white table with us today, my friend...what a treat!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

There's so much I love about this. White on white is lovely, isn't it? I really have a new found love for mismatched silver. It just "speaks" to me. Clever idea to use a child's bracelet as a napking ring.

I enjoyed this Leigh!

I love white and beige seashells added to anything! And your table looks so elegant. I need to find some white dishes myself. Might take some of the glare off all this color!
