Last week I had some business to take care of in neighboring t-town.....that's Tuscaloosa for those that don't know. After business it was time for some fun. The kids, my mother and I took a sidetrip to Capital Park.
A little-known fact is that Tuscaloosa was actually the state capitol before Montgomery from 1826 to 1846. At Capitol Park you'll find reconstructed architectural features of the old capitol building. In fact, the site uses actual bricks and stonework from the original building to outline the ground floor and partial rotunda. Plus several massive columns have been repaired and placed on their original sites.
It's a beautiful setting. Interesting for history and architectural lovers like myself.
My son LOVED playing amongst the bricks and rocks, It was a perfect place for him to play "army". He has put in an order to Big Daddy for some similar architectural pieces in our back yard.LOL.
What I loved was how the landscape created a perfect setting for portraits. And you know I had my camera. Smile.
The kids weren't to happy that I kept interrupting their play for some quick shots. But, "they got over it". They always do. And sometimes. Get even. (I don't know if you can see it in the picture below, but Sister Sledge has her eyes crossed in this photo)
But fouling up a photo can only get you one thing....another photo (remember that Sledge!).
I can tolerate some grumbling for some good pictures.
