A quick recap of Thrifty Thursday, for those who may be new to the idea....Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find.
Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!

I have really enjoyed showing you around some of my favorite thrifty haunts. I gave off a list of my handful of places that are my favorite go to places. I shop weekly, sometimes several times a week because you never know when something good will come in. I think that is part of the secret, to be at the right place at the right time.
In no certain order my favorite places that I often go to:
The Alabama Thrift Store in Alabaster, Alabama
Consigning Interiors Pelham, Alabama
Treasures Thrift Store Pelham, Alabama.
Locally my other hunts are estate sales and yard sales. I also love to shop out other areas of town when I have time. But those places listed always reveal a good treasure at a bargain price.
Let's recap. Two weeks ago we visited the American Thrift Store in Alabaster and went on a shopping trip with the Clematis Club for Thrifty Thursday. Last week on Thrifty Thursday I showed you the mirror I purchased for $12.95 at Treasures Thrift Store in Pelham. This week, I bring you to Consigning Interiors in Pelham, located next door to Treasures.
I had so many photos to show you of all the wonderful items in several of the booths at Consigning Interiors. It was easiest to put them into a slideshow. My favorite thing, that reclaimed barnwood table for just over $300.00. "The artist purchased an entire barn and is using the wood to create unique, one of a kind pieces.", says Adeline Williams, of Adeline's Antiques booth in which the barn table and its sister pieces from the collection can be found.
If you see my husband, Big Daddy, please whisper in his ear my love for all things made of reclaimed barnwood.
Do you see the sweet little stools in the slideshow made from reclaimed cedar? Adorable!
I also fell in love with the red and green lobster plate. I didn't purchase it, but am going to go back. I hate I walked away from it. It has such character and whimsy about it. Another regret, that precious seltzer bottle. Hope it is there too.
Thank goodness Consigning Interiors is close to my home! Although, Big Daddy would probably rebut that statement.
I did purchase two pieces of jewelry. A vintage turquoise cross necklace for $12.00, and a pair of costume hoop earrings (I am all about hoops) for $12.00.

What great stuff they have there! I love all those barnwood things too.
Hi Leigh.
I have no treasures to add to the fun this week, but I really enjoyed your slide show. What a great place!
I also wanted to say that I was moved by your story. My grandma passed away 8 years ago. She suffered from alzheimer's for a couple of years before her passing. It's so difficult watching someone you love change and virtually disappear before your eyes. I remember the Christmas before she passed, my oldest daughter was 7 months old. My grandmother kept asking whose baby she was. No matter how many times someone told her, she would smile and say, "Oh, that's right." It was heartbreaking, but I cherish that Christmas and the photo that I have of the 4 generations of my grandma, mom, me, and my oldest daughter.
My grandmother was an amazing woman, a mother of 6, and pastor's wife, and grandmother of 19 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. She left a legacy and a story that will never be forgotten, at least not to me.
My prayers are with you and your family. These times are so hard, but worth cherishing. My heart goes out to you. May God bless you all.

I think I'm going to have to make at trip to your side of town soon. I agree that the barnwood table and the lobster plate are the two best things on your slide show, but I did take notice of the rooster painting, too.
I added my link to my first ever Thrifty Thursday!
Hi Leigh, mine will be ready at midnight. See you then!
That store looks wonderful! One of my friends and I have been talking about a thrifting roadtrip up your way. Our next road trip will be in August to the "World's Longest Yard Sale" Have you been to that one?
Wow, the slide show was great...I saw several items I could use!
What FUN earrings...you know I am all about those too. :)So sorry about your hubby's grandma's passing.
Leigh I loved the slide show...but I think that store a little to far for me to go to...I would love to go to Al....you guys have so many great things plus Hobby Lobby which I also don't have here in Ca.May you have a great day my friend...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Loved the slide show in the post! Less scrolling. Wow, am I really that lazy? Yes, I am. Happy 25th Thrifty Thursday!
Dawn
The man bought a whole barn - how cool! That table is gorgeous! I about fell off my couch when the cedar stools came up. Love it!
I swear you've got the greatest stores ever! I'm drooling. I really like that terribly gaudy chandelier :) The one made of lilies (I think it's lilies) I'd love to have that in my computer room - oooh, or maybe my peppermint/aqua colored bathroom.
You are so sweet! You always say the kindest things on my comments. You are a gem and you make my day every time you get a chance to come by bloggy way. I can't believe I won the Marshalls card. OMGoodness!!!! I'm thrilled!! Positively thrilled! Thank you :) and once again, congrats on the 2nd year!

I forgot to mention - I clicked on that slide show a few times and was able to super size the pictures :) It made everything seem that much more delightful. Thank you.
Hi Leigh, I wish I had that store near me! I've been looking at jewelry lately at thrift shops and antique stores. You can really find some treasures!
Week after week, in stores and at estate sales I see the dedicated shopper looking for the unexpected.
And my guess is that they sometimes find treasures. I know that I have, and I know that my estate sales - despite my best efforts have been successfully picked by others...
It's the nature of the biz.
I created a list of estate sales companies doing business in the 37 largest cities in the U.S.A.
I hope you like it, and perhaps you will have some suggestions to add to it.
Thanks for your post, and your efforts which help shoppers and dealers alike.
Good Luck
Martin
LOVE the slide show. I can tell that I would spend hours in that store, just by looking at your pictures.
You really should go back and get the lobster plate. It really was cute!
Oh, Leigh, first of all I want you to know I have you, your family and Peg in my prayers! What an amazing lady she was! What a treasure and I'm sure she knew you were a treasure to her!
Dear One, I've entered your name in my giveaway.
Blessings,
Shelia :)
Oh, I love Consigning Interiors, but didn't realize there was Treasures next door. I'll definitely have to go in there. Me and Judy hit CI a few weeks ago & it's a great place to browse.
Check out the $10 dresser I got, a tallboy? is that what its called...either way I am thrilled and cant wait to update it!

Your jewelry is pretty. Enjoyed the slide show -I got a feeling I could do some damage to my bank account in that store. :)

LOL In my excitement, I forgot to link up.
Ok, still adore ya and big hugs for today!
Love the post and congrats on your 2 year bloggaversary. And I absolutely LOVE your blog name.
I just found your blog and event through Lorna at Lace and Ivy Cottage. Thanks for hosting and sharing all your great finds!
Bye for now,
Bill @ Affordable Accoutrements
Leigh -- love that you are sharing your favorite places to thrift -- after all, it can be competitive! Thanks for hosting.
I was so moved by your story about Peg. My mom is in a similar situation; it is wrenching for her, and for all who surround her.
I am going to share your story with my sister -- it so much helps to know about others who have been down this same road.
Blessings to your family, to you for sharing. and for being with Peg as she moves from a life here that no longer is live-able, to her Life with the Lord.
OK, now I'm crying ... Cass
Wow, that consignment place reminds me of a place here in Charlotte that I also LOVE to go to...not as cheap as thrift stores, but still, for what you get, the prices are out of this world. Just got a huge Mediterranean double-matted framed cat print there for my daughter's 22nd birthday coming up. Love it.
It was an absolute steal at $25.
I know she will love it. (can she tell I am trying to jumpstart her on nice wall art before she gets her first place???) {:-o
Thanks for sharing the slide show.
Neat finds, Leigh! I wasn't thinking that my little thrifted plates for today could count, but they could have! Rats!
As to the pillow you asked about... I bought it from a girl in an antique mall, and there weren't any more of them. I have a pair for two chairs in my LR... one says seaside, and the other says summer. I'll check and see when I'm in St. Augustine if they have tags and will let you know.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Happy TT! Love the slide show. Tried to comment earlier and it shut my comp down so I finally gotto comment! Thinking bout you today!
Fun place. The lily chandy is cool. Wouldn't it be wonderful sprayed all white. So many fun things.
Love the turquoise cross.
We are joining in late today. (as usual) ; )
I have a story for you....I know you love consignments, et.al. You know from my blog that my Aunt Shirley is dying. She is being very business like about the whole thing...and does not want her girls stressing when the time comes...so she wants to be buried in a night gown...you know the kind young brides used to get when they married...the virginal gown, robe, etc...and they are not to be had anymore. Everything is sexy...and my aunt...does not want to go out sexy....so my cousins and I started looking on ebay in vintage penoirs. We found one...it was blush...with satin trim around the throat and wrists...from the 1940's. It looks like something Greta Garbo might have worn. My aunt could not make up her mind...so we missed the ending sale. My cousin emailed the seller...explained the situation and what we wanted it for...and she is holding it for us...til my aunt makes up her mind. The seller agreed not to relist this until my aunt says yeah or nah. Leigh, it is absolutely gorgeous...it looks so angelic. We all look at it...and cry. We cry a lot these days...over my aunt and dad.
My favorite consignment shop is right down the road from my house. So that makes me happy too!
Brenda
