Thrifty Thursday

Hey! It's Thrifty Thursday! Thanks for dropping by!
Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find.

Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it?Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell! Be sure to grab a button and link back with your direct hyperlink. Link back to this post in your Thrifty Thursday post.

I had such fun at the Antique Alley Sale last weekend with my mother and aunt and uncle. We some of which I am going to share with you in this Thrifty Thursday post:
An old linen/cotton seed sack ($3)
And an antique RC Cola drink crate ($4), right now I just set my cactus plant in it temporarily.
My dear aunt Wanda surprised me by purchasing this pedestal dish made of blue Indiana glass ($5) and gave it to me. Isn't is beautiful? It's my favorite color!
I wanted to share with you the antique mirror that I got, but I left it over at my mother's house. I plan to get a picture of it this weekend so I can share it with you. I fell in love.
That's my Thrifty Thursday for today! Now onto another blog carnival.....
Tablescape Thursday is hosted by the ever gracious and lovely Susan of Between Naps on the Porch. I encourage you to visit the great tablescapes though! I have met the most wonderful bloggers through that carnival. Thanks to Susan for hosting!! She is such a doll.
With summer nipping at my heels, I have to say that a simple summer tablescape is one that I love. One that is so full of simplicity, it's beautiful. Lazy days, promote lazy tablescapes. I am looking forward to the lazy days of summer! Today my children get out of school for the summer....and then there is BAMA who will graduate from highschool tonight (more on that in tomorrow's post) .
So with little time for more traditional tablescapes I am quick to throw one together like this easy one with wild flowers set atop a weathered picnic table, just waiting to be set with such goodies like a bucket of fried chicken, potato salad, a big jug of sweet tea and ice cold chocolate pie!

For this tablescape-Make a large bouquet of summer flowers for the table centerpiece. Skip the traditional glass vase and instead use a pitcher or glass milk jar or even a recycled tin can for a vase, to add some summer fun to the tablescape. I used a Mason jar. Simple. Sweet. Romantic.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to link up.
I will also be putting the direct links within the post.

Please be sure to visit other Thrifty Thursday participants to see what treasures they found.

I will add participants within the post, but you can also find them by clicking on Mr. Linky, even if you do not link up. I look forward to seeing your Thrifty Thursday!

Hi Leigh! I had a blue glass pedestal like yours and one of my children broke the lid and I don't know where the bottom is!
It is very lovely.
Now I love the jar with the wildflowers in it! If you'll put the fried chicken on the table - I'll be over! LOL
Be a sweetie,

What a unique glass dish. I've been antiquing for years and I don't recall ever seeing a blue dish like that. How lovely! How sweet of your aunt to give that to you. I have a thoughtful and generous aunt like that too. Aren't we so blessed! Happy Thrifty Thursday!

Hi Leigh

love that mason jar filled with flowers, I always think it is *much harder to get a casual look that works than a more formal, I am constantly trying to dump flowers in jars like that without the same results as yours! lol

I added my link to the thrift but my post is from yesterday, hope that is ok, please delete if isn't

happy thursday

I'd LOVE to cover my new gossip bench with that flour sack! :-) Wowza you made out well.

Great suggestion to link up my "global extravaganza" from the other day. Mr. Linky appears to not be in agreement with you right now. :-) I'll try to pop over later to see if he's back in action.
