Thrifty Thursday, Tablescape and The Mirror

Hey! It's #19 of our Thrifty Thursday! Thanks for dropping by!
Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find.
Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it?Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!

Be sure to grab a button and link back with your direct hyperlink.
Link back to this post in your Thrifty Thursday post.
I had such fun at the Antique Alley Sale a couple weekends ago, yes...that post is still going on. I finally have taken a picture of the mirror that we scored at an estate sale. Yes! Finally! Apparently, I am trying to drag out this Antique Alley post as long as possible. LOL. I promised you that I would share with you the mirror I found at an estate sale along the antique alley route on Highway 11. This mirror was marked $110.00.
Its an antique, quite heavy and very large with a solid wood frame with some gilding. It was bought for a steal. Everything that day was half price, so for $55.00 this gorgeous piece came home with me.
That's my Thrifty Thursday for today! Now onto other blog carnival's.....
Tablescape Thursday is hosted by the ever gracious and lovely Susan of Between Naps on the Porch. I am also linking up to Rhoda's burlap party, as it will tie into my tablescape, as you will see. To visit Rhoda and see more of her party participants, click here.

The following tablescape is from a party in which I was commissioned as the photographer. The theme was "Boot Scoot Boogie" which in essence was a "hoe down" of sorts. I was so impressed with the decorations, especially the tablescapes. They were simple, they were clever, they were so cute. For example, this tin can seen below, punched with holes served as candlelight on the tables. Thrown onto the table was pieces of jute or twine, allowed to lie whimsically and freeform. Each table had roasted peanuts scattered atop for some fast "appetizers" before the real meal-BBQ and a variety of side dishes like slaw, chips and biscuits.
Some tables were decorated with actual boots, stuffed with hay and sticks as a centerpiece.
Burlap was used as tablecloths.
And there was even a bar area made from hay bales. Every cowboy needs a bar to mosey up to to order up a "strong one", or so I hear.
And that, is "my" tablescape, one that I wanted to share with you. It'd be so cute for a summer BBQ. Oh, I forgot to mention that all guest were asked to dress in their best western gear-which really made for a cute and fun party. My station, the photography set up, was decorated with a saddle, where guest posed cleverly. A fun night.
I encourage you to visit the great tablescapes though! I have met the most wonderful bloggers through that carnival. Thanks to Susan for hosting!! She is such a doll.
Also thanks to Rhoda for hosting the burlap party! A party is always fun! I wanted to leave you with two more burlap projects, my son's window curtains.

You can click here AND here to read more about that project.

As well as the small piano bench that I covered in a burlap coffee bean bag.
Click here for more on that post. (Beach Kat, I painted the legs black and LOVE it!)
And finally, another tablescape, this one a country picnic also using burlap, but in a different way. Click here for that.

The cabin post, where we also like to decorate using burlap.

For a quick link to all of my burlap post, click here, where you can find them all on one page. Thanks for stopping by! I too, love burlap!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to link up-but today by leaving your direct link in the comments.
I will also be putting the direct links within the post.

Please be sure to visit other Thrifty Thursday participants to see what treasures they found.

I will add participants within the post, because as Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer says, "Mr. Linky is being Stinky". He is NOT cooperating with anyone in the blogging world due to system overload. He is only friendly currently with gold members, ie paying customers, of which I am not, because, wel....I'm thrifty! So..... I am glad to know that for once, it isn't just me having linky issues.

Just be certain to leave a direct link in the comments and I will post ASAP.I look forward to seeing your Thrifty Thursday!!

Finally, be sure to check out my exciting news concerning Alabama Blogger.

Have a wonderful Thrifty Thurday!

Leigh,

The mirror is awesome! It looks very solid and the frame is gorgeous! Do you know where you are going to put it??

What a party. Are those real cowboys?!! I like the bales of hay for the bar area. I am allergic to hay so obviously I wouldn't overdo it and start dancing around those tin cans in my cowboy boots!! I bet you had fun! ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Love the mirror - REALLY love it. I have a 'thing' about mirrors and feel like you can't hang too many of them in your house. I just don't like what I see in them :(

And the burlap pics are fabulous! YEE HAW I love the country look (I'm living the country look).

Hugs to you Leigh and have a great day!

Hi, Leigh, girl! Thanks for joining the party today. Love those burlap drapes and how fun that you shopped the Hwy. 11 sale. One of my readers told me about it, but I didn't go and look it up. I had never heard of that one before. If I had someone to go with, I might have gone. Next time you do something like that, please let me know. Is it worth going to? I guess it is.

I love the mirror....oooh goodness What a good price for that piece.
