It's also Tablescape Thursday so it has to be a party! I am going to partipate in both today. Chandy created this double post badge, thanks Chandy! Heart Chandy.
Tablescape Thursday is hosted by the ever gracious and lovely Susan of Between Naps on the Porch. If you are participating in Thrifty Thursday, be sure to grab yourself a Thrifty Thursday button and let's get started! For those that don't know, Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, or an antique store. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements.I am not picky. It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find. Tell me about it. Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell! Thanks for stopping by! Let's get to it!
My tablescape is a thrifty one today, as most always. Today, lets go outside for a bite to eat. It's a tea party for one as well, so I am going to contribute to Rose Haven's Tea Party as well.
I found the dishes at my local thrift store. They are Johnson Bros Ironstone.
The pattern is Old English Countryside. I purchased a 8 piece place setting for about $40.00 bucks. I am in love with the transferware pattern.
The pattern has browns and blues, yellows and greens-even a bit of pink in the bushes in it. And of course a white background. It features an English countryside scene, a little village with thatched roof houses that line the streets.
My chair was a find, my mom found it at her barn. It was pitched out by a previous owner. It is a vintage piece. I don't have the original table. But if I could find it it would be worth $250.00 for the two vintage pieces. My chair, was free.
Also free was the tablecloth. It was given to me by my cousins, Jeff and Brenda. It belonged to Jeff's mother, my Aunt Merle. I am happy to have it. They also gave me the embroidered napkins I used today as well.
That's it....my thrifty Thursday contribution.

LOVE those dishes!!!
Thrifty and lovely! My Mother-in-law has dishes similar to those. They are her Thanksgiving dishes as I recall.
I love those dishes too, Leigh. I have a few pieces and would like to get more. And can't beat a free chair and tablecloth...Christine
Leigh, you are the queen of Thrifty! I just posted mine so come and see soon! My Thursdays are so much fun because my two fave memes happen on Thursdays!
I'll be visiting everyone later today. Finishing up my papers...
Hello, hello!?! Am I in the right place??? There's been some redecoratin' going on around here!
I don't think I've ever seen transfer ware with so much color! Beautiful.
So pretty....Love your picture on the topping of your blog page ! Makes me want to vacation ! Hugs~ Kammy
I have so much Johnson Bros. china and I just love it. Great find!
Love the dishes! Just thinking, but they'd be great for a Thanksgiving/harvest tablescape too. With all the browns and greens, you could definitely pull off a "fall" theme pretty easily. And the chair? Hmmm, looks like it could be some ancient Meadowcraft!
Thanks again for doing Tablescape Thursday! I have the best time looking at everyone's pretty tables.
I love it! Toooooo CUTE!!!!!
I love the china pattern...thanks for joining in the TEA PARTY today. Would you mind putting a LINK to my blog in your post somewhere?
Thanks,
Jan
Hi Leigh, I love your new dishes. They are different because they have highlighted colors in the transferware! I haven't ever seen that. I also love your little vintage chair. It reminds me out of something out of a 50's ice cream parlor. So sweet!
Duh - Tablescape AND Thrifty Thursday! These combo posts are mixing me up!
Al Fresco at its finest!

Lovely dishes.....what a great find
Hope your day has been beautiful
Hi Leigh! I do believe you got some bargain on those lovely dishes. The tablecloth is so nice and knowing it came from your aunt makes it even sweeter. I just love vintage patio sets! That little chair is just precious!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Leigh, I didn't know you met Marlee Matlin! I love her! Were you photographing or just hanging out or what? I don't watch much of DWTS, but I remember her from Reasonable Doubts and just a big fan!

Love the Johnson Bros. brown transferware. It is just gorgeous. What a lovely tablescape. Hugs, Marty
Hi Leigh! I'm playing some serious bloggy catch up!
I bought a Johnson Bros plate at a rummage sale this weekend for a buck. Whoo hoo! Not sure I'll have it together for this Thrifty Thursday but it will make an appearance in one for sure. :-)
Found you from Sheryl's blog and thought that Victoria's (my sister-we blog together) post yesterday would be perfect for Thrifty Thursdays. Looks like so much fun.
I love your dishes. As a child we visited someone (can't remember who) that had dishes similar to this. I remember looking at all of the details. We also grew up in a little city whose downtown street had tudor style buildings. Great memories.
Love the white chair. Finding things in a barn would be such fun.
