Valentine's on a Budget

First, I want to thank you for playing along in Thrifty Thursday (if you did). I got several emails yesterday saying that we would have a few additional participants next week. I did spring it upon you at the very last minute (like-a day...I told you I am spontaneous). I did enjoy visiting the blogs that shared their thrifty finds. That was fun. If you didn't get a chance to visit those great blogs, be sure to check Mr. Linky below. I look forward to next week's submission's..

I have really enjoyed visiting all the blogs out there with such cleverly crafted and perfected valentines decor. I wish I could be as inspirational. It is hard for me because I really loathe Valentine's Day. Loathe it.
But I can offer affordability. Are you looking for something a bit more budget friendly this Valentine's Day? What about something that is budget friendly, yet out of the ordinary? Here are a couple suggestions, from someone that loathes Valentine's Day...but loves LOVE.

Don't want to have to cook your own meal?
WH
What says love better than a plate of waffles and crisp bacon.
Nothing if you are married to a man like Big Daddy.
Surprise you Big Daddy with a candle light dinner at none other than The Waffle House. I kid you not.The newly opened Calera, Al. Waffle House is offering patrons candle dinner service and all the ambiance that is can, uh, "mustard" up on Valentine's Eve. Reservations are recommended. Again, no joking here. This one just gave me a smile.

Have your Cake and Eat it too!
Ashley Macs is the place to go for true love in the form of a pink sugary strawberry confection. I would much prefer a slice of this cake to one of those hearts filled with chocolate any day. But if you are one that prefers chocolate, Ashley Macs has you covered in that department too. Brownies. Brownies in many flavors. Brownies that can be shipped anywhere. Umm, hmm.

Can't decide? What about a Gift Certificate? Here are some great suggestions provided to you by some good friends of mine:

My friend, Terri, is the worlds best masseuse. A gift certificate from Renaissance Spa will do just the trick. Terri Ray can iron out any kink. Guaranteed that your loved one will be professing their love for you during a rub down on Terri's table.

Get on touch with an artistic side by either creating your loved one a personalized masterpiece, or by giving a gift certificate so that one can create their own. My friend Dawn South at Dawn's Creations can help you decide on who makes a better Picasso.

Dance the Night Away
A gift certificate from Fred Astaire Dance Studio (owned by my friends Jackie and Fabian Sanchez) will be perfect for "getting on your groove thang." Don't show up with some lame dance moves, learn from the best! Romance IS in the art of Dance.
This one will score you some points!

Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover.
True, a book is a very personal gift. But if you really know your loved one, this idea can be perfectly executed by inserting one of Panda Designs handmade bookmarks between the pages.
Lay it upon the pillow to be found at bedtime. Sweet & thoughtful!

Homemade
And the best thing in the world, homemade gifts and cards. I can't think of a better way of showing someone you care than something handmade with love.

If you use any of these suggestions, I hope that you will tell the service provider that you heard it from Leigh at Tales from Bloggeritaville.
I wish you much love!
