TJ Maxx and Marshalls offer Deep Discounts

What would you do if someone asked you to go shopping, gave you money to shop with and said that you could purchase anything you wanted and then come back and report about it. It'd be a dream job. And it happened to me! I was asked to go shopping on behalf of Marshalls and TJ Maxx. Not a bad gig, hey?
Especially, considering that I frequently shop at both of these stores, being the budget minded woman that I am. Not to mention I am married to a tightwad, not that there's anything wrong with it. It promises an early retirement. And when the thought of sitting next to my honey on a beach in a permanent spot with a bottom less tropical drink in my hand....It just makes senseto pay less for clothing. Why not? And the fact that it is designer brands that can be found at such stores as TJ Maxx and Marshalls, it is only a bonus. And so before I headed out to the mall (gasp.....) to go to a department store, I would stop at these stores to see what they had…and I always found something fabulous!
TJ Maxx and Marshalls: Stop by one of their awesome stores which specializes in quality brand-name items at discount discount prices for your whole family. These stores carry brand name merchandise found in department stores, but for much less — and sometimes beating online prices as well. Scoring the best deals in fashions and passing the saving onto you- the customer, that is the TJ Maxx and Marshall's way!
There is nothing cheap about the product lines in either of these stores, the only thing cheap is the pricing! I can sum up my love of these stores in one word: Ralph Lauren, Liz Clairborne, divine kitchen stuff, housewares, bed and bath linens (the sheets are to die for!) children’s clothes, shoes and toys! Ok - that may have been more than one word, but that is because there are so many reasons to love these stores.
When I “needed” a pair of delicious zip up black boots with a heel? I headed to Marshall’s shoe department and bought a pair that would have cost over $100.00 at the department store for only $35.00. And, in the mind of the ultra frugal budget conscious husband that I have, I can honestly say, he took a look at the boots and all was forgiven.
Are you in the market for kids? Be it kids clothing or books, toys and videos/DVDs you can always find a great selection at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I found a great wooden castle for my resident 8 year old "knight" at Marshalls. It is of heirloom quality...and I do plan to hold onto it long after J. Smooth's days of playing knights are gone. One day it will be gifted to grandchildren.
As for me....what did I purchase with my giftcards?
I went shopping the weekend following Christmas and scored some great items.
I have been in the market for some more apothecary jars for my collection....and I hit the jackpot!
At TJ Maxx I found this one filled with pinecones. It was originally marked $24.00, which is a steal in itself, if you have priced the large jars-you know! They can run twice as much, but I got mine half off.

The same can be said for the apothecary jar I found at Marshalls. It was filled with silver glittered balls- they looked much like disco balls! It had a clearance price of $20.00, but because it was considered Christmas, I got an additional 50% off due to the after Christmas sale.
As the seasons change, I will change out the contents of the jars.
I also purchased this beautiful large bowl. It looks like a perfect lettuce bowl, and from the moment I saw it I could imagine Tropical Strawberry Salad sitting in the bowl. The bowl was $12.99!
I also picked up this gorgeous plate....
I have it in mind for a future craft project that I plan to share. And for $3.99, I can't go wrong!

All my son, Bama, asked for for Christmas was "Ralph Lauren POLO". He has become a clothes snob. But at TJ Maxx and Marshall's his Christmas list became more affordable. One of Bama's wishes were the Polo t-shirts. At the mall, the cost for a t-shirt is laughable at $36.00, but at Maxx and Marshalls-$12.99! I even splurged and bought myself one!

I have mentioned on plenty occasions that I enjoy cooking. One of my favorite things about these two stores is the line of specialty foods and seasonings that they offer. The vinegar and olive oil selections alone will make your mouth water! I picked up a couple spices for my food pantry, Jerk Seasoning and Course Sea Salt.

And for emergency purposes only, a box of my favorite chocolates...

For emergencies. A pantry should always be stocked with such items.
Need to stock your pantry, or better yet- your closet?
Stop by your local Marshalls or TJ Maxx to checkout their last-minute Christmas specials. Or you can even shop online if you prefer. Either way, you’ll find some amazing savings!

Great deals! I love those apothocary jars, but have never purchased because of the price...

I'm not much of a shopper - but you may have opened my eyes to some bargain shopping.

I have my jars filled with shells from the beach- I never ever shop at those 2 stores although we have them both- I just get too overwhelmed in there- It seems like both stores are really messy- But that is probably just the ones here. Yours are probably neater and better tended to.

Valarie- Luck of the draw I guess? I don't ask, I just took the opportunity and ran with it! (Smile)

Butterfly Girl-Maybe you'll get lucky and one will come to your area. They really carry much of the same things.

Thanks Mari! I have been wanting some large apocothary jars. I will show you a picture of them all together in a future post!

Nicolle- When I saw that bowl, I knew that salad with its bright berries woudl look and taste wonderful. You know we eat with our eyes first!

Kirby- check it out at your local stores! They are at a steal. And can be used in so many ways. Take a trip to one of those stores, you will not be sorry.

Drama- Great minds think alike! I swapped mine out today and put shells in some of minie. I just love looking at shells. It is my idea of perfect art. I also put them into the large white Italian bowl that I found at the thrift store.
