How I spent my V day

Even though I am a V-Day Hater, I really had a good day. It's not really the thought of V day, as mentioned time and time again, just the commercialism. Anyway....Yesterday there was alot of love floating around....

I went in the morning to "the Park" (assisted living facility) to visit my grandmother (actually Big Daddy's). They were having a special guest in the building.....Elvis. Back from the grave (I will avoid the many jokes that could come from this) to preform at the "home". Grandma was already seated when I arrived, on the front row mind you, so I quietly and discreetly sneaked in and sat on the floor next to Grandma (and whispering to her who I was, bless her. She cannot see). The next thing I knew, a hand was reaching down at me. I looked up and low and behold, it 'twas "the King", asking me to do something. I was so shocked I didn't quite now what it was he was asking. Being it was Elvis, though, I took his hand. The next thing I knew he was asking me to dance while he belted out "Blue Suede Shoes". Have mercy people! It was before noon! But he began to sing and I began to shimmy and shake (why didnt I wear my spanx!!) and let it loose.
The King and I, we gave a pretty good show. Looking at the pictures...I think the King "showed" more than I did. It was a nice touch when the workers handed out chocolates to the residents. Milk Chocolate"Without nuts" .Good thing. Do ya hear me now? It was a bit much for the morning hour for me. (ah-hemmmm)But the residents sure enjoyed it.And I did enjoy Elvis' singing....

.............................................................................................Even my mom got into the dancing. All women received a scarf from the "king" as well as a kiss (sweat infused....me, germs...) Anyway, this guy was quite entertaining (to say the least). He sang the songs himself and did a great job. I would highly recommend him for parties. (See business card).

..........................................................................................Afterwards my mother had her heart on getting all of the grandchildren WebKinz for Valentines Day. She didn't know who had what already so I went along to help her in that way. At the mall , Limited Two sells the Webkinz, with a lare assortment. I was thrilled we went in because I scored HUGE! Last weekend I had gotten into Sledge's closet and thrown all but 2 pairs of shoes because she has grown out of all of them with the latest growth spurt. I got all thses shoes, all of them, for $4.99 each. A total of 25 bucks for all-thats what just one pair cost orginally. How I love a bargain, and it's really the only way I shop anymore-when I do shop......It really made my day. I also got this pretty dress for her, for , get ready...$5 Bucks!!! (also at Limited Two) And I think it will be quite pretty should she decided to wear it to the rehearsal dinner in May. Yippee!

Miley got her first puppy cut on V day, at our *sorta* new groomers, Fox Valley Grooming (next to the restaurant). How cute does she look? Just like her daddy! Now you can actually see those huge brown puppy eyes. I love Fox Valley Grooming. Another deal here, cost $20.00 for PUPPY bath, cut, nail clips, glands (will not go into for those that dont know) and hair now, plus a goodie bag. Worth it. I took Miles in at 7:15 and she was home by 9:30. Happy Miley.

I got home and found that a package had arrived for me, from my blogger Valentine exchange partner, Frannie. The idea was to make someone's day special and only spend $10.00 ( I think Frannie over spent, bless her. I got some great things in my box, an Asian cookbook (Frannie is a volunteer that helps run the largest Asian charity event in Atlanta... http://www.chopstixforcharity.org/ ) as well as some body spray from Bath and Body, some party lite candles, "Sensual" and a book, "Deadline for Love". I loved all of the sweet surprises, but even more, I really enjoyed meeting someone new. Frannie seems to be such a sweet woman with a precious family. A person that has grown through adversity. She is a kind and generous person. The swap was really alot of fun. I hope that Frannie and I will keep in touch, as she is a "neighbor" of sorts, living in Atlanta. The exchange was hosted by An Island Life. Again, what a fun and novel idea!

I ended by day with a hot date, er...back to reality..., dance class with Flo and Chesney as well as Amy and a new one to the class, Nick. We had a great time, though I am still struggling with the dance. It is ALOT of fun!.

It was a good day.

You really do lead a charmed life! I commend you on being so "active" and supportive of everyone around you ... I know that you are loved by many. You do crack me up; I think you'd do just about anything to be up on that stage! hahahaha!!! Enjoyed the story!!

I do love a good bargain. You did a great job in the shoe department. Glad you had a great Valentine's Day!

P.S. I'm not that into V Day either. I'll take my romance randomly as opposed to some designated day!
