ALL KIDS Playground

ALL KIDS Playground by Leigh Bratina
What a glorious day.....not only did I get caught in a torrential downpour and rained upon twice today...but one of those times was during the Helena Kiwanis Club dedication of the ALL KIDS playground. The dedication took place at the playground, located at Joe Tucker Park in Helena. The dedication was very nice, consisting of notable speakers as Mayor Penhale, Kiwanis president Jackson Knox and other Kiwanis and city council members. The Master of ceremonies was none other than my buddy, meteorologist Brian Peters of ABC 33/40 (not Fox 6 as indicated in the program! LOL). Funds were raised by many wonderful contributors that consisted of both business owners as well as private individuals. The community really came together to see the playground become a reality. The ALL KIDS playground gives all kids, even those with disabilities, access to all areas of fun and play. The playground is sensitivity receptive and wheelchair accessible. Not only is the playground for children, it will also allow handicap individuals with children to enjoy the playground too. Wheelchair bound individuals will now have the capability to wheel right up to the slide to catch their child as they come down. It is a beautiful thing-and so was the rain.
