Thrifty Thursday-Plus a Tablescape

Welcome one, welcome all to Thrifty Thursday here in Bloggeritaville.
It's also Tablescape Thursday so it has to be a party! Tablescape Thursday is hosted by the ever gracious and lovely Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

If you are participating in Thrifty Thursday, be sure to grab yourself a Thrifty Thursday button and let's get started! For those that don't know, Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumster diving, or an antique store. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements.
I am not picky (Keetha! Smile), It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find. Tell me about it. Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!

Call me a slacker, but I am making this post brief. I don't mean to complain, but I am just explaining the why. And that is I am still fighting a bad cold. So, thus the slacker I am.
This is my tablescape. The one I have been familiar with for the last couple days.

I purchased the bowls at the thrift store. I just love these bowls. The mugs are part of a Mikasa set I found at another thrift. The napkins I embroidered. My wooden serving tray, a $3.88 thrifty find.
I have been dining on soup, hot tea and ice water. Oh, and Tylenol cold and Tylenol sore throat. I LOVE this time of year, the blooms, the Resurrection! But the pollen, it is getting to me.
My reading material, also thrift. It's my favorite magazine, Coastal Living, which I am now getting as a subscription and cannot figure out how. I am happy about it though.

My book was a recommendation by my friend Charnita. Savannah Blues. I finished it. Great book. Has much of what I love in a book: takes place in the south (in Savannah, obviously. I love Savannah), mystery, antiques....It was a good one!
A couple other thrifty find I found a couple weeks ago..

Arent these shoes beautiful? Steve Madden and Paris Blues heels. I cannot wear them, I am a klutz in heels. I am going to put them on Ebay. But they are gorgeous. Artwork, huh?
And that, is my Thrifty Thursday post.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will play along. If so be sure to register with Mr. Linky and go and visit the other Thrifty Thursday contestants.
Have a great day, y'all!

Well, I had to settle for #2 spot in Mr. Linky this time. Spent too long working on my post I guess!!!

Hey - - - I LOVE, I mean I really L-O-V-E that last pair of shoes. E-bay Schme-Bay - - - I'd KEEP them and use them in a little vignette somewhere in my house - - - like with a vintage dress, an old pair of spectacles, and your grandma's gloves!!!!!

Poor baby! I hope you're feeling better soon -- I know how you feel about the pollen -- cough cough wheeze wheeze!

Ugh, I had a cold last weekend and I don't blame you. Cute tray. The best advise I got was to rest. Worked better than anything.

Feel better. Guess you were not up to singing tonight with the Idols. Heels? Down to one pair in black and only at weddings until the dancing starts. Those Paris Blues are cute and should fly on ebay.

Hope you didn't have to fix your own tray! Get well!

Beautiful setup though it's mainly for soup and tylenol, :-)

Great shoes, hope you find some true lovers to fight over those!

Neat post,Leigh. I love the tablescape and the book looks/sounds interesting. Do you read Anne Rivers Siddons?

The shoes are so cute! I envied you just a bit, until I read you
can't wear them. I can't wear heels either. I used to, but I was never able to wear them well!

Great stuff Leigh! Too bad you aren't feeling well - darn that pollen.

This is the hardest carnival for me, I can never think of anything in the house that is thrifty and yet, I want to participate! LOL Maybe I need to shop with the camera and find thrifty things outside the house haha

Feel better

Love those shoes, but alas they would end up on eBay for me too! too much extreme gardening has wrecked my feet from frouffy shoes.
Hope you're getting over your cold. I just went through that last month. Caught up on some reading though.

Hi Leigh...I hope you are already feeling better! Perfect tablescape for a cold...except...there are no flowers...a little bud in a vase would make you feel sooo much better, don't you think? It always does make me feel better...a hypo-allergenic one for sure!
Happy April!
;-D

Like any good thrifty girl, I "recycled" -- my post from earlier this week. ;-) I added to Mr. Linky but I'm not sure he "accepted" me into his open arms. He sure is a fickle fellow. :-)

It's a special day over at the shorehouse...I started my blog one year ago today. Whoo hoo!

I hope you're feeling much, much better...and OMG -- what size are those Steve Madden shoes?!

xo, Laura

Love the shoes! I don't do well in heels anymore either, but they're still pretty to look at.

Sorry to hear you have been sick. I love how you made a tablescape showing everything you are living off of right now. Too funny. I love the last pair of shoes. But I don't wear heels much either, not because I am klutz. Just because I am tall.

Ali said...

Aww thanks so much! And I didn't realize you did a "thrifty" post too, I entered on one at a different blog through my frugal country mom blog, hmm...can I link to both? Or maybe I can alternate weeks? Eeek!

STILLMAGNOLIA said...

Love the shoes...especially the black heels...but alas...I too am a major klutz. I recognized your tablescape...it was mine last week....finally bit the bullet and went to the doctor for a shot and some real drugs. I think I will survive. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hello Leigh...

So sorry that you're down with a cold! Sending you my very best get well wishes!!!

Shoot, I didn't realize that you were doing "Thrifty Thursday" until I seen Cynthia's post. I sure could have participated in this fun event today...along with Tablescape Thursday. I did a Dollar Store tablescape and spent under $14 for the entire tablescape! I certainly will keep Thrifty Thursday in mind for the future!

Feel better!!!
