Hi! It's Thrifty Thursday! I am your host, Leigh. Thank you so much for stopping by and additional thanks to those who also participate in Thrifty Thursday! I am most delighted to have you join in..for it's YOU who makes it a "show and tell party". I also participate in Tablescape Thursday the host of that fun carnival is the Hostess with the Mostess...Susan of Between Naps on the Backporch. That's no lie or exaggeration, each week I visit Susan's porch and just long to be a guest at any of her tablescapes...especially those held on the porch.

(You can click on any pictures for a closer view)

*Thrifty Thursday takes place each Thursday and is hosted here at Tales from Bloggeritaville, but the party is a progressive one, visit the links to see all the Thrifty Thursday links to see the thrifty treasures participating bloggers have to share.

*Don't forget to copy and paste the Thrifty Thursday logo button to your computer so you can add it to your side bar and your Thrifty Thursday post. That way visitors will know that your are participating in Thrifty Thursday.

I finally got a driftwood project done...well...sort of......
I thought I would share it with you today.
I went to my local thrift and found a large frame. I actually purchased 2 frames. The larger one was $4.98, the smaller $1.98, which I will use for another driftwood project.

I hate it for the mountain goats in the frame.....they just don't go with my decor......

I have several bags of driftwood that I picked up on a recent trip to Fort Morgan.

I laid all of the driftwood out on my outdoor table and began to organize it as best I could by lenght and size of driftwood. I also had a special section for driftwood that just stood out....I might've liked the holes in the wood or the bend in a stick, etc. Those were my "artsy fartsy show pieces".
Then I began to piece the driftwood around frame, not gluing. I wanted to fit it together, to see what piece worked better where. And I am glad I did. It took me three times to get what I wanted. It was much like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. THEN I got out my hot glue gun and began glueing the pieces together, just as they were.

I used the swirly pieces of driftwood in the corners.

And I used pieces of driftwood that had a flatter side as a base on the frame.

I hate to show you a final product when it really isn't finished.
I am having a mirror cut to fit the inside.
It wasn't ready.
But I am also an impatient person and well..wanted to share...Although the mirror is still missing the frame itself came together.
(You can click on this-or any pictures- for a larger look)
On second thought...perhaps it needs some "fattening". I think I may add some more pieces to the sides to widen it. And you really wouldn't believe how light it is!  I really think having the mirror in there will make all the difference!

When I am done "for real", when the mirror is added I will share that with you too.

Tablescape Thursday is  hosted by the lovely, Susan of Between Naps on the Porch..

You might be surprised to find that today my tablescape consist on my favorite white dishes (all of which can be found AT HOME)....
