Thrifty Thursday #91, Plus a Tablescape!

Hi! It's Thrifty Thursday! I am your host, Leigh. Thank you so much for stopping by and additional thanks to those who also participate in Thrifty Thursday! I am most delighted to have you join in..for it's YOU who makes it a "show and tell party". I also participate in Tablescape Thursday the host of that fun carnival is the Hostess with the Mostess...Susan of Between Naps on the Backporch. That's no lie or exaggeration, each week I visit Susan's porch and just long to be a guest at any of her tablescapes...especially those held on the porch.
(You can click on any pictures for a closer view)

*Thrifty Thursday takes place each Thursday and is hosted here at Tales from Bloggeritaville, but the party is a progressive one, visit the links to see all the Thrifty Thursday links to see the thrifty treasures participating bloggers have to share.

*Don't forget to copy and paste the Thrifty Thursday logo button to your computer so you can add it to your side bar and your Thrifty Thursday post. That way visitors will know that your are participating in Thrifty Thursday.

My son has a passion for world history and geography and everything that entails. He also collects globes.
I LOVEd this idea of taking a globe (they are a dime a dozen at the thrift) and Cutting it in half ...yes, marked easily by the equator....and fashioning it into a "globe" lamp with a simple light kit.

Perfect for his desk!

And for my Thanksgiving tablescape:

Thanks to all of you for stopping by and participating in today's Thrifty Thursday.

Join me tomorrow at Plates and PLaces for Foodie Friday.

Please use Mr. Linky below to link up your blog. Please leave a comment after linking. I love to hear from you.I encourage you all to spread the love and visit the other thrifty Thursday participants, for that's what half the fun is. Aside from seeing a cool treasure it's making friends!
Thank you, all, FRIENDS! I appreciate YOU!

HUGS! Hope to see you tomorrow, but not before you leave some "roadmap" love!

Leigh,
I love that early Banana Republic look your son has going on! I used to be crazy about that look. iit is really timeless, British Colonial. Very cool idea with the globe. Love your brights for Thanksgiving too.

Leigh, I really like this idea~ So unique for someone who appreciates the old globes with the now outdated country names! I wish I could get them for cheap in this area- they are always so expensive. It is rare to find one that is reasonably priced. But, I'm always lookin'. Thanks so much for hosting once again. Cute tablescape- I like the green placemat/napkin combo used with the amber glassware. :-) Sue

A very pretty table setting. I will be serving buffet style again this year. Like the light shade made out of half of a world globe. Have seen them done before, but did not know how they held up to heat from the light bulb.
Thanks for hosting again this week.

Thanks again for hosting another party. I don't know why, but I JUST NOW realized that I am not a follower! What the heck? Well, I rectified that situation!

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a "linky piggy", but I ended up double-linking & can't seem to remove one. I'm really enjoying your party!

That globe idea is perfect! My son loved that look when he was still at home too. He had maps all over his walls. Now, he has traveled the world. Your table looks so welcoming for the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Leigh!

LOVE the globe pendant; what a great idea for a boy's room or for a library. I've got to go to better thrift shops -- never saw a globe at one.

Lovely tablescape. I REALLY like the goblets and glasses; very nice.
Happy TT... Cass

Very cool idea for a light fixture! Is that one you made or the one you saw? Very creative.

I too love globes. I have seen them made into lamps, and into bowls. Alas, they are not a dime a dozen around here. Your tablescape is lovely. Thanks again for hosting this week.

That was a great idea Leigh. I bet he's glad to have such a creative mom.

Sorry I haven't been by in a while, and didn't get the loveseat linked up. It's been a crazy couple of weeks.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
