Stores are a great place to shop.....for ideas!
On Sunday my mother and I attended a lecture series at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Afterward we went into the giftshop on grounds and walked away with some incredible ideas. Though far from thrifty in the store, very easy to recreate at home.
Lets look around.....
We begin with one of my favorites. You might recall my lusting for a driftwood mirror? The two at the gardens cost hundreds of dollars. But you can create for dollars.
I hope these will inspire you are much as they did me.

Here is another fine example of a driftwood mirror:

Use things in nature for holiday displays...

A lamp made from an iron decorative piece. A lighting/lamp store can help you do this inexpesivley.

I love the mirror that was created from scrap. Its dementional and has a whimsical shape. Its very interesting.

Look! A driftwood tree! We have talked about those before, remember?
Love it!

This jewelry was created from old game pieces, old scrap metal from old mailboxes, an old key. All of which, I adore! These peices of jewelry come with a story!

My mother loved this pinecone wreath. Easy to create with a hot glue gun, a wreath form and pinecones. We are going to make several of these.
I hope that you have enjoyed seeing these creations and that it inspires you to create some of your own.
And keep in mind, the holidays are just around the corner, nothing says "LOVE" like a homemade gift.
A gift from the heart.

My tablescape today is in Navaho Red....the color of the season!

Thanks to all of you for stopping by and participating in today's Thrifty Thursday.

Hi Friend! Love those necklaces- did you see my junk necklace from last Thursday? I think I may try a wreathe out of magnolia pods- I have a yard full right now!

Using natural elements in my decor is something I try to do often, Leigh. I don't have a driftwood mirror, though. They are pretty cool.
I used to wire pine cones to a metal wreath form back in the olden days- boy, did that wreak havoc on the fingers! Hot glue would be easier, I'm sure. Except that I ALWAYS burn myself using that darn glue gun.
What fun inspiration photos! Thanks for hosting and the invite to stop over.

Well, Leigh, you had me with the driftwood!
LOVE those mirrors. Finding good pieces of driftwood was a big deal at our old summerhouse when I was a kid; my mom loved it.
The more silvery and beat up, the better!
And you know I LOVE red dishes. Wow, the calendar is flying by!

Those are wonderful photos and great ideas, too. I like the driftwood mirror. almost as much nice as collecting the driftwood itself. Thanks for hosting the party this week.
