Fall Decor on the Door

Fall is on it's way! It becomes official on Thursday (Sept 23). Despite the ninety degree temperatures, I thought if I decorated in the theme of autumn, perhaps the weather would follow suit. It's a nice thought at least! I thought I would share my decor with you today, but first an apology and a plea to ignore the fact that I deperatly need to pressure wash. My brother in law, "The Artist" currently has possesion of the pressure washer, in which we are desperate need.
For my outdoor fall decor, I found two long sticks in my backyard and added them to my planter pots that I painted black with white polka dots, some time ago. The pots already had some Creeping Jenny plants in them. I transplanted some mums to it too, but they have yet to take root. I have faith.
To the "trees" I added several "old crows" that I found at the Dollar Tree. I might even hot glue some fall leaves to the "trees" before it is all said and done. Finally, for my door a found fall basket of flora that was a find at the thrift store. I plan to begin my inside decor soon. Have you begun your fall decorating? If so, what have you done to "get in the mood"?

Thanks for dropping by! I hope to see you tomorrow.

Looks great! I really need to get in the fall spirit; I just love summer so much it's hard to switch.

Cooler temps would be nice, though!

Love your Fall goodies, especially the polka dotted pots and pumpkins. It's so darn HOT here that it's hard to think Autumn.

Hugs,
Kat

Very pretty! Trying to get my stuff out...and painting up a storm. Getting ready for our fall Art House.

My husband will be in Ecuador on Sept 23...straddling the equator...says he'll be completely divided - half in the northern hemisphere, half in the southern... He's weird like that!

This looks great! I haven't done any more than a wreath on the door and a garden flag -- we're going to have some dead bushes removed and new ones planted - so I'm waiting to be outdoor inspired -- love the whimsey of those polka dotted buckets and your crows!

I've gotten the Fall stuff out - both inside and outside the house. But, I will probably wait til the beginning of October to start layering in the Halloween items. I love the branches in the polka dot pots....and the black birds on the branches are divine! Still waiting to find pumpkins in the stores here...please hurry up and get here! They are always the crowning touch on the front porch, don't you think?

It looks wonderful Leigh! I love Fall!

I did a wreath for our front door yesterday. No photo yet. Maybe I'll do that today.
