Inlet Beach Outdoor Wednesday

There is nothing like having my toes in the sand, tasting the salt in the air and hearing the crash of the waves to restore my soul. Inlet Beach held that perscription for me last week. I went on a family trip that included my family of five, my brothers family of five and our parents.
We had a wonderful week in a house we rented in the small community of Inlet Beach, located just between Destin and Panama City. Inlet Beach, Florida, is located at the eastern edge of South Walton's 15 beach communities. It gets its name from Phillips Inlet, which separates Walton and Bay Counties.
There we played in the surf and sand, rode bikes that we rented for the entire family from morning until late at night, had a few wildlife encounters and enjoyed the togetherness of having a close family.
For Outdoor Wednesday, I thought I would share a little of our vacation through pictures...just more of many to come!
And while we were there, we had no oil. I hear its forecasted though. Please join me in praying for the Gulf Coast area. You will see that the natural beauty is a reminder of some of our greatest blessings....our Earth.

For more Outdoor wednesday participants visit Susan at Southern Daydreamer.

I invite you to join me back here tomorrow for Thrifty Thursday.

Just a reminder...My Friday post regarding the Miranda Lambert song also touched alot of you. I received several emails and comments of your childhood homes and how your childhood home "built" you. What a beautiful song, what a beautiful sentiment. Scrappy Dee left a comment about her grandmothers home and how meaningful and special that it was to her. She also suggested that I have a Mr. McLinky party where we could share our special house that built "you". I would love to hear a special memory of growing up in your special place, or perhaps it is your home now. Share photographs too!

We will have the "House that Built Me" Party on Friday June 18!!!!

I will post Mr. McLinky on Thursday night June 17th, following Thrifty Thursday. I hope to have the link up by 8PM, assuming there are no linky issues. So, join me won't you, in sharing your special memories. Think of it as a progressive house warming party. That's exactly what it is!

HUGS! Hope to see you tomorrow, but not before you leave some "roadmap" love!

LOVE your photos! See why I think (know actually) that I live in Paradise. I'm just praying we have a miracle and the oil doesn't come here.

Hugs!

Leigh, this looks like a fun vacation. I've not been to Inlet Beach, but this makes me want to go!

I hope the oil hadn't struck there. I have been so upset over this debacle in the Gulf, and I pray that TPTB get things under control for all of our sakes! Poor Louisiana! Don't even get me started! ;-)

On a better note, this is just beautiful. Mr. Magpie is up that way on business for the next few days. It's such a beautiful area.

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I am lovin' that hammock! Wonderful photos, looks like you're all having a great time. But then, you're at the beach and there is nothing better.

Having just moved from The Gulf in Florida I can only hope that images like these will be available for capturing for years to come.

I'm having a giveaway, stop by if you get a moment. It's very beachy!

Oooooo!!! Makes me want to take a vacation to Inlet Beach. Great photos. Praying for the oil to leave/dissapate/whatever. I live in Florida, so it could be bad. Enjoy your blog.

What a beautiful place. I hope someone comes up with some solutions soon about this oil leak. It's so terrible, I'm afraid the gulf coast will be feeling the effects for a long time. I'll try to think good thoughts though!
Hugs,
Dawn

Those pictures are awesome! It sounds (and looks) like a wonderful time!

The oil in the Gulf just makes me sick. When I was in Gulf Shores a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't help but think about all the small children playing in the sand who might not be able to do that again for many, many years. I hope I'm wrong.
