Christmas "Vacation"

Welcome back! How was your Christmas? Mine was very good, it was filled with many good times with family and friends-what more could I ask for?
Last Sunday my brother in law, "The Artist" and his wife, Mida hosted their annual Christmas movie night at their home.

Each year my family piles up in the van along with my mother in law and heads west to Tuscaloosa to take in Christmas movies and some of the best food (prepared by my BIL and SIL) at the T-Town Bratina's home. This year we watched the movie Fred Claus. I had never seen it before. I thought it was very cute.

On the menu was homemade pizza's. My favorite is the goat cheese and vegetable, though there were five different pizza's, all with various and different toppings. This one is the supreme:

Mida has perfected her homemade pizza crust and The artist has done the same for his homemade pizza sauce. They shared with me their recipes, which I hope to have posted soon at Plates and Places.

Christmas Eve we went to the Dassau Family home, also a tradition. Diva's mother started the tradition of hosting a Christmas Eve open house, when she passed Diva carried on that tradition.

There was delicious food & wonderful friends gathered.

You can find Diva's husband, The Bassman's Authentic Gumbo recipe at Plates and Places,it's posted right now. You're certain to make many friends using his recipe!

Christmas was spent at my Mom and Dad's. I am fortunate to live only 15 minutes from them. Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends gathered there too. I slide show from Christmas Day is posted below.
And finally, in the social rounds, we celebrated the Bassman's 40th birthday with a Saints themed party (the bassman is from Louisiana) complete with Saints colored King cakes from Paul's in New Orleans.

Diva got the baby...

As the new year quickly approaches, I am a bit reflective of the past year and am humbled at the grace God has shown upon and the blessings He has bestowed me. I pray the same for you, my friend.
How was your Christmas? If you blogged about it, leave your link in the comments. I would love to drop by your place and read all about it.
Once again, Thanks for dropping by today! I missed you!!!!

What great traditions you have. There is something so wonderful about seeing sugar cookies getting decorated.
