Thrifty Thursday #29 and a Tablescape

Hi there, my friends!! It's #29 of our Thrifty Thursday!
Thanks for dropping by! I really appreciate all of you playing along in Thrifty Thursday. It is enjoyable to see what treasures all of you find. Not to mention the biggest treasure-meeting you and discovering some fabulous blogs! That's the best part!

A quick recap of Thrifty Thursday, for those who may be new to the idea....Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find.
Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!

I love things related to the beach, I know. Your surprised. I found this wooden boat at a garage sale for $3.00. It had a hideous clown attached to the inside of the boat. I don't know what a clown has to do with a boat, and clowns kind of scare me, so I ripped him out (sorry kids) and kept the boat. The boat sits atop one of my bookcases in my den area.

These two candlesticks, both made of wood were both finds at the thrift store, found on separate occasions. The larger one was $1.98, the smaller one was 79 cents.

The larger one has one of the battery operated candles from Kirklands, now on clearance!
Before you rush along to Kirklands, I wanted to share my Thrifty Tablescape with you.
The glasses are borrowed, from my mother. An antique she inherited.

The tablecloth is a quilted throw, Actually the one I used last week. It is double sided with two different patterns. It was purchased from Cold Water Creek on clearance.

A potted plant from the porch is the centerpiece.

The plate is from Home Goods. It is white with scalloped edges.

I love the shell pattern on it.
I encourage you to visit my friend Susan of Between Naps on the Porch for some great Tablescape Thursday participants.

I invite you to visit PLATES AND PLACES for Southern Staples and my Friday Foodie Friday.

Thank you so very much for joining in Thrifty Thursday today! I treasure your friendships and comments.

Thank you for stopping by Thrifty Thursday! And a big THANK YOU to those that link up and play along! I enjoy stopping by your blogs each week to see what you have found, so many of you give me such inspiration!

I encourage you all to stop by all the Thrifty Thursday participants:

I might show up twice on your list today - - - - or not at all.

I THOUGHT I linked, but after going through all the other entries, mine had still not shown up in the list, so I relinked. It's still not showing up.

Love those white plates with the shell border!!!! I looked high and low for a thrifty sailboat when I did my beachy bathroom - no luck! So I ended up with a cheap/tacky Gulf Shores souviner from Alvin's Island. I'll replace it one day!!!

Love your sailboat, Leigh. Yes, clowns are very evil, at least I think so!

I love those faux candles. I use them everywhere. When did a scented candle really do any good??

I love your plates and the textured edeges. Great post!! :-)

I do not like clowns. I probably wouldn't have even noticed the boat because of the clown LOL But I have to say - it's a FABULOUS boat!!

I'm in this week, thankfully! I've missed being a part of the group the past few weeks.

Hi Leigh...great finds! I didn't play along in your meme today, w/ my thrifted tablescape, because I wouldn't have time to visit everybody. But I see that most of the participants in Thrifty Thursday are also participants in Tablescape Thursday & I've already visited them. Mind if I join the party this late?

I think I have that same throw (thrifted LOL) but I'd have too the other side to be sure.

Goodness- I just went back and saw the pictures on the estate sale post! When I read the post the the first time the slide show would not work on my computer. But it did today! Oh, the treasures!!! I wish I had not seen them!! Have a good time this weekend - bring some of that stuff home with you!!!

Love the boat...a clown?

So glad I got to see your tablescape too. Lovely. I love your "tablecloth". Isn't it wonderful when something is reversible! Now that's a bargain.

Catch ya later,

So many people are finding boats at yard sales these day, so cute!!!

Kirklands you say? Well there IS one just right up the road...

:)

Cool finds Leigh!

Garage Sales have to be the greatest. People are willing to barter and practically give-away!!!!
Love your finds and table!

Christina said...

love the boat! $3.00---great deal. This is weird that it had a clown???, but looks great without it.

Love the Homegoods plates. Beautiful.

Julie said...

Someday I'll start yard-saling again. Right now, IF I do get up early on a Saturday, it's to tend to some client's pets. But aren't they the best? You can almost get some stuff for free! Like your deals and your tablescape. :-)
Thanks for the party.

Love those glasses! I've been looking for some nice antique ones, but haven't happened upon them yet. The throw from Coldwater Creek is a good color to use in any setting, due to it's being sort of neutral. And I love boats and anything nautical!

Very pretty finds -- I especially love the white plates, and that beautiful quilt. I cannot fathom why anyone would put a CLOWN in a BOAT. How bizarre. Good move taking him out!
