Thrifty Thursday #26 and a Tablescape

Hi there, my friends!! It's #26 of our Thrifty Thursday!
Thanks for dropping by! I really appreciate all of you playing along in Thrifty Thursday. It is enjoyable to see what treasures all of you find. Not to mention the biggest treasure-meeting you and discovering some fabulous blogs! That's the best part!

A quick recap of Thrifty Thursday, for those who may be new to the idea....Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find.
Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!
I have a few items to share this week, each from different places that I mentioned last week..
From the Alabaster Thrift Store for $3.88, this is one of my favorites. I LOVE this weathered chair. It is solid and very heavy.
Also at the thrift, for $1.98, this shelf, which matches my kitchen walls perfect.
I put it above the china cabinet that I bought from Diva for $50.00
It was meant to be!
On the shelf it holds a silver platter that I inherited from Peg, some years ago. A starfish that was on clearance at TJ Maxx for $3.00 and my little Target Birds from our fun tablescape a few months ago.
From Consigning Interiors I purchased this sweet black mirror for $12.00
Some close up views of the details:
I don't know what I will put in the lower half cubbie. A candle? A plant? Suggestions?

Finally, another freebie that I inherited just this week. My aunt and uncle brought this sweet chair to Nashville. Grandpa did the needlework on the back and seat cushions. The man can do anything!
It's been quite a week. (Maternal) Great Grandma Peg is still on hospice and last night (Wed) was finally moved into a nursing facility. Paternal Great Grandpa and Grandma were relocated a couple weeks ago to a nursing facility as well. They downsized, of course, and thus the chair.
Thanks for dropping by on Thrifty Thursday!
Now onto the Tablescape Thrusday segment of the post.
A couple of days ago, I took the time and created four different tablescapes to share, but today I was inspired by my recent copy of Victoria magazine. Inside were these amazing "beach" themed tablescapes:
The plates and glasses can be found at Home Goods.
I love the romantic thought of a picnic on the beach. Some wine and artisan bread. I'm yours...
This is a lovely veranda picnic at the beach.
Good Morning World! Life is so good at the beach.
I love this fruit and juice in the morning with a view of the shoreline.
From the beach to a breakfast country side tablescape...I love the vintage tablecloth and chairs.
And what about this lovely Italian inspired tablescape. Again, with the wine and bread....
I sware that's why Big Daddy married me. I am a cheap date. Smile.

I encourage you to visit my friend Susan of Between Naps on the Porch for some great Tablescape Thursday participants.

I invite you to visit PLATES AND PLACES for Southern Staples and my Friday Foodie Friday
Next week (week of July 20th) I will be celebrating my 2 year blogging anniversary with a week worth of giveaways. My thanks to you, for your support and friendships!
Be sure to pay a visit to all the Thrifty Thursday contributors and see all the great found treasures.

So pretty, and yes, the man can needlepoint!
I'm with you....I am such a cheap date too. I have to be careful with wine or the tannins give me a migraine, so it's usually white, although I am finding the Australian shiraz don't do that to me..but I can't find Firefly wine anymore (sob). Anyway, I can be bought with good beer (microbrew) and chips and salsa.

Hi there Leigh.
I'm sorry I haven't been around. I've been having a hard time getting onto your blog. It keeps giving me the same message mine gives me. Arrrgh! :(
Anyway, I'm here now.
I am seriously torn between which of your finds is my favorite. I love the mirror. What great lines and patina. I would use the little opening on the bottom for notes. Maybe little love letters. How cute would that be?! You could even put a dry erase marker in there to write notes on the mirror. That works too. As long as you don't leave the message there too too long it will wipe right off.
I really think the chair is the deal of the week, though. What an amazing price. Are you going to paint it? Stain it? Leave it as is? I can't wait to see.
I only have one little thing this week, but here's my link:

Wow, you have some great things!! Have you been holding back, Leigh?? I love the chair in the first pic. Any idea what you will do with it?? And the shelf is very cute. The mirror with the little shelf would look great with a candle in a glass votive on it. I love the way candles reflect in mirrors.

I hope everything works out with your elders. It must be a very emotional time. You can always count on us for support if needed...

Oh, love the cute pictures from Victoria. If I ever get furniture on my balcony, I plan to have some sweet morning and romatic evening soirees up there!!

Love the mirror and such a good price too!

I love mirrors and have them everywhere. Any size mirror can just open up a room almost like adding a window.

Well, there you go. A man who can needlepoint! And well, may I say! Once I had a mirror with a cubby like that and I stored tapered candles in it. Like eight or ten to fill mine up. I also love that polka dotted tablecloth!

Your grandfather certainly is a special guy...not too many guys do needlepoint...very impressive. Loved all your Thrifty Treasures. :-) Susan

I really like your thrifty items this week but ESPECIALLY the needle point chair. That is a treasure!

I'm ready to slow down a bit around here so that I can participate again. We had company all week (it was wonderful) and have more company coming in this weekend. I'm not glad that school is about to start back, but it will be nice to have a little extra time :)

Have a good weekend Leigh. I hope it is relaxing for you!
