Cloche Party & a Friday Flashback

Marty of A Stroll Thu Life is hosting a Cloche Party. I am excited to be a participant, but before I talk cloche's, I want to thank everyone for participating in Thrifty Thursday (held weekly, every Thursday). I am always amazed and inspired by everyone. I enjoy seeing what treasures are found, what thrifty and clever ways one might reuse and even the way someone can make gardening a great family event-thriftily. Love it! As mentioned, I am always impressed, but yesterday one post I was so intrigued with, it is found at The Good Life

Just follow the link and see what this gorgeous bed....that she made for her dog (the luckiest dog in the world) was in it's former state. You too will be impressed. And that is just one of the fabulous finds on Thrifty Thursday, found here each week on ...well, Thursday's! So join in , or make the rounds! But have fun!
Thanks to everyone for participating. Its always fun and I LOVE my bloggy friends!
Now, onto the Cloche Carnival!

A cloche doesn't have to be glass. They also come in other materials such as wicker and wire to name a few. A cloche is anything that you can display something inside.
I almost posted my block of cheese under a cheese dome, but I realized that I had some things that might qualify. Though, dont think for one second that I dont put something cute, ie a birds nest on a pretty plate and through the cheese dome lid on top of it. I mean, why not? I am thrifty. And it works pretty well. I bet you can do that too!
Marty said "Dig through those closets and pull out all your hidden treasures and show us your creations. Some of the ladies want to also show their apothecary jars they decorate. So feel free to show either or both."
And that is just what I am doing for my show and tell. I would love a cloche, but I don't have a "real" one yet. But I do I have jars. Lots of jars.....

This small glass jar, a thrift store find, holds wine corks. Despite the wine in the background, I am not a wine drinker. But I do love to cook with it! I depend on my wino friends....Oh, I kid, my friends who occasionally partake to supply me with the corks.
So...if you have some corks you don't want, send them my way! PLEASE?????
These apothecary glass jars hold straws, a bird in a nest, and another waiting to be filled.

I am so excited to see all the different cloches everyone has and how they display and decorate them!!

Today is Friday Flashback with Deanna of Coffee on The Table. The theme is "Made in the Shade". I am out of town this week on vacation, so I didn't have access to any pictures from the past, so for this week, I hope it will be ok if the flashback is a flashback from this past week. That is the past isn't it? Shoot! Vacations fly by much to quickly. Anyway, my made in the shade:
"Rainbows in the Sand"
It's a sure way to beat the heat on the beach. That and a tropical drink.....
Thanks for stopping by! Leave me a "roadmap"......
Hugs, friends!

Love the jars and the way you put such different things in them. Such fun. I think it is fascinating to see all the different creations. Love the sand and shells and what special memories of trips with the family. Your jars qualify beautifully and give me even more ideas for mine. Thanks for participating. Hugs, Marty

Thanks for braggin on my doggie bed! I don't mind at all! Just know that it is NOT my original idea...it is Ki's from Junk Camp...mine is a knock-off of hers. I want to give her the credit for the idea! It was really fun looking for just the right table...there are so many possibilities. Thanks for stopping by my blog and feel free to visit as often as you like!

I liked that you labeled your jar with the Outer Banks sand. Do you do this with everything? It is a really neat idea.... As is putting your straws into the tall jar! :-) Sue

Oh Leigh - I love your jars! I didn't even think about taking a pic of my decanter with all my corks (when I run out of space - I'll start sending them your way). And I am going to copy the bird's nest in a jar - my Brudda just gave me a nest from his yard - such inspiration! Thanks for participating in FF - I love that shot - so colorful. Oh and thanks for the Foodie Friday Tip! TTFN

You have some great ideas for your jars - like them all. I missed posting on Thrifty Thursday this week, but will try to be back next week. I need to visit the others. You got a great deal on the cabinet.

I love the rainbow on the beach picture!!

I bought a bag of wine corks at a yard sale one time. I don't drink wine either so I thought I NEEDED those corks! I wasn't as creative as you are (I couldn't figure out what to do with them) so I gave them away (to Jerri I think).

I hope that you have had a wonderful time. We are getting ready to make that trek up I65 again... hopefully we'll stay put until the 4th.

(I am wondering why I didn't send you an email with the length of this comment LOL - I can't help it - I've missed you!).

Very nice offerings for the cloche party!

Leigh,

You have some cute jars!! I have jars too up at the lake but I never thought to post them for the Cloche Party (no cloches here!). I have a big apothacary jar~ it is still filled with candy from Valentines Day! LOL!!

I love the shells and the one with the Outer Bank on it (where you collected them?).

Which brings me to an idea for your cork collection. I just saw, and I don't remember if it was on a blog or in a magazine, sorry... where the date was wriiten on the cork of when it was drank. Since you don't drink wine, you can always write the date of the party you served it at, and even what the party was for!! I think that is a neat idea.

I hope you are enjoying your vacation. How sweet to post and keep up with TT while you are gone! By the way, I had so much fun and visited some new blogs which was also great! See ya!

xoxo

I love the jars. I have one with sand in it from the Pacific Coast. It was my last vacation with just my daughter. We had an awesome time and we bought the jar at a thrift store in Portland, OR. It is our souvenir of a wonderful moment. I will have to blog about it sometime.

Leigh, I love your jar collections! I haven't been thrifting lately, so I haven't been participating in the Thrifty Thursdays. I will get back into it again, though!

Hi Leigh...

Ooooh...love all of your pretty jars!!! I love that little bird and nest...so sweet! And I can never resist a pretty jar full of shells...not sure what it is about them but they're just fascinating to me!

Have a great week off, my friend! I'm leaving tomorrow for Texas for a couple of weeks. I'm getting to see all three of my daughters and all ten of my grandchildren! I'm so excited! Have a great time and be safe, Sweetie!

Warmest wishes,

Love your blog and really enjoy your posts especially the ones about the trips to the beach. My daughter lived in Mobile for a couple of years and I spent a lot of time on Orange Beach at her MIL's townhouse. I wished I lived close.
ps.I have a huge jar of corks all supplied by my own consumption:)
