How Does Your Garden Grow?

Oh! Look! Do you see them in there?

It's tiny tomatoes on my heirloom Brandywine tomato plant that I purchased at the antique alley barn sale. After a weekend of rain, I went out and found these little beauties. I also saw these little yellow buds....
More tomatoes! These are on a Beefsteak Tomato. I also have a cherry tomato variety. My kids love going into the garden and picking them right off the vine and popping into their mouths. It's a nice treat in the hot summer sun.
Also in my garden I have planted mint (LOTS of mint of differnt varieties-spearmint, chocolate mint & pineapple mint), rosemary, cucumbers (2 differnt kinds), sunflowers, and peppers. I am also planning a few other things, but I have had little time to pay proper attention as I should.
Also growing strong...
Years ago, Big Daddy's precious Grandpa-who has a green thumb-planted this climbing rose for me. It is loaded with roses. I cannot help but think of dear Grandpa each time I see it. Grandpa just turned 94. He is in poor health of late. I wish he could see how these roses are blooming. He lives in Indiana, and I feel that we need to make a visit, as I worry time is running out. He says he is ready "to go home".
Speaking of things growing, I have been looking around the web for inspirational ideas for my outdoor garden. I am thinking twinkling lights in trees....so it looks like fireflies have lit it up.
I also found these sweet garden inspirational photos...
The nice koi pond flanks the rattan sitting area.
I love the twig furniture built into the bridge.
This next one is from Country Living. I imagine the three little pigs living here.
Check out this grouping of containers....

Arranging your containers in groups will give them far more impact than dotting them around a patio. Grouping pots of different heights together will increase the visual interest still further. Don't feel obliged to stick to traditional containers like pots and troughs. All sorts of objects can be re-purposed as containers, including wheelbarrows, buckets, sinks and chimney pots.
That's certainly some thrifty treasures for thought...ones that can be applied to your outdoor garden and living space. I will have to keep that in mind as I go thrifting. How is your garden growing? If you do a post on your garden, leave me a direct link. And in any case, leave me a comment-my roadmap to your place!
Thanks for stopping by Bloggeritaville, friend!

What a treat in your garden, Leigh! I'll take some of those cherry tomatoes and some chocolate mint. Then we can add lean steak with some crisp boston lettuce and have ourselves a picnic at that sitting area on the bridge! We'll adorn the table with some of those beautiful roses and while away the afternoon looking at the koi pond if we don't fall asleep on those rattan chairs.

Mmmm... what a life that would be huh, Leigh? Man, that sounds awful good to me!

Oh, I got your card. Thank you thank you so much! It is very nice of you to do that for me...

Big hugs! Chandy

Leigh, you'd better keep a good eye on that chocolate mint. If it's not too late, I'd think about digging it up and putting it into a pot. I planted one chocolate mint plant a few years ago, and it's taken over an entire flower bed. I'm not kidding. It even tries to spread into my yard early in the spring.

I could certainly live with those 3 little pigs in that cute house.

I love fresh, homegrown tomatoes. My husband ate the first cherry tomato of the season last week. It was the only one that was ripe.

I love your garden! The roses on your granddaddy's bush look absolutely marvelous, and I can't wait to see what you do with all that mint. (Mojitos, anyone?) Thanks for sharing a look into your back yard.

Sorry to hear that grandpa is unwell. It is wonderful, however, that he is ready to go.

I have a a few plants hanging around the back porch. Tomato plants are a must. Good tomatoes are hard to come by unless you are growing them yourself. :)

I used to live on a lake in Michigan (there were so many lakes in that state. mine was a small one lol) Anyway, we had about 50 steps from the house to the lake, so I had a few dozen pots lining the path down to the lake. It was too shady for a garden but I always enjoyed the container plants that I purchased.

I just love warm tomatoes form the vine - yum!

Such a beautiful post, Leigh!

We have one patio tomato. It has blooms. Around here, we usually celebrate the 4th of July with the first ripe tomatoes!

Excitement abound as we have two TEENY tomatoes on our Bush variety. And our poor little cherry tomato plant needs a little prayer.

And my daughter loves to pick 'em and eat 'em too! (me too)

That little cabin isn't where the 3 little pigs lived! Don't you recognize it? It is where sleepy, happy, dopey, sneezy, doc, bashful, and grumpy live! Can't you hear them whistle while they work? Snow White says hi.
