Thrifty Thursday-a Tablescape-And The Promise of a Bedroom Down Memory Lane

It's Thrifty Thursday!
Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find. Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!
Be sure to grab a button and link back.

*****This week is going to be a little different though, I will be out of town from Thursday to Wednesday. I am going on a beach trip with the girls (in case you haven't heard), and I will also be cheering my son on in the state tennis tournament in Mobile part of that time.
Chandy of What Now Tablescapes, has graciously agreed to host Thrifty Thursday while I am out of town. Please drop by her blog, Sign Mr. Linky and get in on all the Thrifty Thursday fun!
Thanks to all who come and visit, those who participate in Thrifty Thursday, those that lurk and to Chandy....for braving TT! I sincerely am appreciative of you! I will return all the comments when I return. Your comments are important to me, so keep 'em coming!
Before I head south I wanted to share my Thrifty Thursday. For my girls beach trip, I wanted to do a little something extra for everyone. With 10 women going, I had to find a way to do something without breaking the budget. So...I shopped around for picture frames. I found some at Hobby Lobby, others at the thrift store. I looked for ones that had a wide space in the frame, where I would write something.
I came home with my 10 frames and spray painted them all black.
I purchased some of those paint pens in metallic at Hobby Lobby. I then decided on a verse for my frame. The one I chose: "The language of friendship is not words but meanings. ~Henry David Thoreau". I thought that was perfect, because words cannot describe our friendships, it is a bond between each of us that is indescribable,
In the frames, I put a picture of all of us together.

I forgot to take a pic of the frames completed. When I return from my beach trip, I will share it.

Today is also Tablescape Thursday.
Tablescape Thursday is hosted by the ever gracious and lovely Susan of Between Naps on the Porch. I didn't have an opportunity to post a tablescape, but I can give you an idea of a couple that I have in mind for this weekend....

****Finally, I wanted to mention that my friend Misti from Studio M Designs is hosting a Childhood Bedroom Carnival. This was one that I really wanted to get in on, but didn't have time to go to my parents house and get pictures (between wrestling, tennis, and packing I ran out of time). I will do a post on my childhood bedroom, it sounds like a fun post! But in the meantime, please go by and spread some love to Misti. Maybe you can share your childhood bedroom. Perhaps you were destined to be a designer? Misti an actual designer, so I can only imagine the creativeness that was her bedroom. Besides, she has a great blog! Head on over to Misti's and please tell her Leigh sent cha!

Hope you have a great day and weekend!

Those frames are so cool! One of those "hit myself in the head moments", while saying why didn't I think of that? Great gift idea! Thanks for the shout out, and I was not quite the decorator back then, I just decorated all of my stuffed animals!

Hope you have a wonderful trip,
Misti

Have a great trip, Leigh!
I'm loving those frames, but the 2nd beach picture disturbs me - surely I can't be the only one who looked at that and thought "fire hazard"! I guess it's my "overly-cautious" coming out, or TJ has rubbed off on me more than I like to admit. At any rate, looking forward to your return!

What a creative idea for a gift. That they have writing from your own hand (your handwriting is gorgeous) makes it all the more special. I hope that you are having a good time Leigh!!
