Going to the Chapel.....

I actually had planned to run something else today. But two things happened. One, I stayed out way to late last night with my circle of girlfriends celebrating & toasting my friend, "the Boss'" who is to be married today. Secondly, I am just so happy for her I had to toast her publicly on my blog. I can post my story later. Friendship comes first.
I have mentioned many times, the close knit group of girlfriends that I belong. We have stood and sometimes, actually held, one another through many of life's walks. Two weeks ago my friend, the Boss lost her dad. He was to marry her and her fiance, Rick. But in true "Boss" mode, she troops ahead, fulling knowing that is what her daddy, Mr. Larry would want. A close friend of Mr. Larry's stepped in to do the honors of officiating. It was obvious Mr. Larry's opinion of Rick, Kym's future husband. He had complete confidence in him and was comfortable with him and his impending marriage of his daughter to Kym. Then Rick had to get approval from the Clematis Club. I will be honest in saying that my first opinion, when Kym told me that she was engaged, I was guarded more than anything. Sure I was happy for her, for she seemed happy, but I was also guarded.
I had to wonder (out of pure love, respect and wanting to protect my friend) Rick's sincere intentions. I wasn't quite sure, I was admittedly cautious, I wanted nothing more than the best for my friend, who had had her share of misfortune before.
But I soon learned the gentleman that Rick was. He is noble, his job is one of which he serves his fellow citizens daily. He is Humble and quiet. He is devoted father, a great father, adopter of a three legged pound puppy, and one that has genuinely accepted what most see as a blended family, as his OWN family. Steps are in houses, not in families and he seems to recognize that. And I never saw such compassion and grace when Kym lost her dad, than from Rick. He's a good man, one that I now know in my heart is worthy of my friend, Kym, who I love beyond words. I am so happy for you both, Rick and Kym. You deserve a lifetime of happiness, and I am certain that you have found it in one another. You have your father's blessing. You have the blessing of the Clematis Club.
The last few weeks have been painful ones, but today is a fresh beginning. A new book, titled Your Life Together. May the pages be filled with adventure, love, compassion, alot of laughter, truth, respect, admiration, open minds, willingness to learn, the ability to allow one another room to grow and spread your individual wings in every chapter.
It seems that in your new life together, you have a guaranteed happy ending.
I love you both, Kym and Rick, and wish you both the very best.
May God Bless you.
** I also want to wish my highschool pal, Kristy HW a blessed marriage. I am equally as happy for you and your "New Life" with Josh. May you grow together in God's abiding love. HUGS.

How sweet and what a sweet friend you are. I understand your reserve when meeting a new boyfriend of a friend you love. It's our job to watch out for our friends and girlie, your friends are lucky you "have their back." Here's to a new and happy chapter in "the bosses" life!
