It's almost that time of year. The time when parking lots are full, malls are crowded and tempers unfortunately are high. Yep, folks, 'tis the season for holiday shopping!
Answer me this, why is it (in my experiences) when I attempt a mall run and face the madness of the parking lot, the crowds and the rude people who forget what Christmas is really about, why is it that when I get to the store to get that one thing in particular it is always out of stock? whyyyyyyy?
This is why I have turned to my trusty little computer to shop online. I have done this for the past three years and it works for me. True, I have heard the argument that it isn't Christmas unless you endure the mad dash, but for me being in my home, shopping online, I find a greater sense of peace at home, sipping hot cocoa and listening to Christmas carols as I shop online.
But I have discovered that my shopping can all be for a good cause (tell that to your husbands!).
You can actually earn money for the school of your choice. And please, you do not need to have children or school age children to participate. It can be your local school, the school you once attended, a inner city school, or one you choose at random....but lets face it, our schools need the funding and our children all deserve a good education.
So, do you want to know how to participate? Through Box Tops for Education.
The Box Tops for Education program runs year-round. The website offers valuable program information, as well as opportunities to earn Bonus Box Tops through special promotions, such as sweepstakes and the Holly Deal promotions running this Holiday season. It also offers great recipes, coupons, and Family Matters articles to help you navigate through the early school years. Go to http://www.btfe.com/ for more information and start earning cash for your school today.
Did you know that your school can earn up to $60,000 every year by participating in all three of the Box Tops for Education programs. You can earn cash for your school every time you 1) shop online at the Box Tops Marketplace, 2) shop for groceries and clip box tops or 3) order books online through the Box Tops Reading Room – at no extra cost to you.
I actually did some Christmas shopping online today at shoes.com, in the Box Tops Marketplace. And as I shopped my school earned 6.5 % of what I spent. Box Tops for Education Marketplace is an online fundraising program that allows you to earn cash for your school when you shop online – up to $20,000 per school every year!

Thanks for this, Leigh, we already save the box tops for my little girls' school, but this will definately help!!!!
We are FIRM believers in Box Tops for Education. We also turn in the Nestle Water bottle labels. Great post!
WOW, our kid's school does participate in this program and I had no idea there was MORE to it than just the little labels. I may have to pass this on to the administration so other parents will know. THANKS.
Thanks for the tip about the box tops marketplace. I just ordered a Christmas present through there, so a few pennies went to my son's school anyway.
