"Huntin' "

I loaded up my hunting gear and off I went...hunting.

If there is anything I learned about hunting...is that it takes patience.

Much like making divinity. Only a little bit different.

Another thing is, you must pack snacks. I didn't think to do that.

But I would assume a quiet snack, is what you would need to pack. Nothing crunchy, that's for sure.

And don't ever talk!! You will scare off what you are hunting in the first place.

I learned that the hard way. I was running my mouth about the new Longhorn Steakhouse in town. Man, it was good.......

AND! SHOOT!

I scared "it" off. It heard me blabbing and flew away.

Patience. Much like fishing, which I love. Only in fishing you can talk.

So, I learned a lesson in hunting. And stalking prey. And patience.
And it paid off.
Just as I was throwing in the towel...it came back.
I ever so gently picked up my hunting equipment.
I aimed.
And I shot.
And I got 'em!
Just look!

Now don't think he wasn't on to me. He knew I was there taking his picture. And what a coincidence! He was there hunting too.

And I learned another thing. He snacks when he hunts too.
Only it's field mice.
And they seemed to be crunchy.

And suddenly I wasn't hungry anymore.
But I got my shot in! And that's all that counted.
As soon as I took his picture, he flew off again, into the treeline.
As if it were meant to be.
So majestic. So interesting to watch. And "shoot".
Now, if you have read my blog for any length of time, you will know I wasn't really toting a gun, don't cha? Especially to aim at any animal.
That was my weekend.
How was yours?

Awesome shots, Leigh!!! Much like "shooting" kids, you have to sneak up on them or they cry and run from the camera or give you that cheesy painted on grin!

Oh, making divinity, now that's a whole other level of patience!

I'm not a gun toting shooter either. I am not against it, I just can't.

Beautiful photos!

I'm glad it was just a camera!

I love watching hawks!! Ok that is when my little Cannon is not outside. Actually I don't think a hawk could get his fat booty off the ground. :)

HA!
I AM going to make divinity this year! I've never made it, but I've been taking baby steps in the candy department.

Any favorite recipes?

Beautiful! My husband just got home from his hunting trip - but it looks like you got a shot and he didn't. I like yours a whole lot better lol

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!
