"Little People"Town

I have mentioned my recent and frequent trips to my friend, Diva's childhood home. We have been in the midst of cleaning and clearing out, organizing and sorting. In one room, I discovered a treasure so big, that it far outweighed my "goldmine" from Cash 4 Gold (smile).

A goldmine so big....

It transported me to the 1970's.

It was me and my brother, Jon.

Me and my friend, Debby...and any other friends we could find.

Sometimes Grandma played too. Not really....but sort of, as I pushed her along in her wheelchair.

Me. Me. Me alone. I had them all to myself then.

The world of Little People. Little Wooden people. My favorite was the red headed girl. I called her as mine every time I played.

Little People World was a place where I spent much of my childhood. Literally, hours were devoted to such play and imagination.

It was where I was when I wasn't playing barbies, listening to tunes on my 45 record player or out riding my pink bicycle with the plastic flower basket.

Here. In the world of Little People, I was a frequent traveler. I would drive to the parking deck ....

Round and round. Finally, choosing the perfect spot. I would take the elevator down to the airport terminal to board the little people plane. It would take me to many wonderful places....

A Swedish Chateau in the forest:

Big cities, with their hustle and bustle. Where the bad guys went to jail. Gas was cheap. The barber always gave the perfect haircut. You could trust the town mechanic. And it was great to see the mailman. He never carried bills on him...it was good news!

My all time favorite place to travel was the far away castle with hidden rooms, a jailhouse cave, and motes with alligators in them. And I loved my pet dragon. And what girl doesn't love a prince?

On occasion, I took the wrong road and ended up a some seedy hotel:

But you know me.....I'm a germaphob, I traveled with my own sheet set, so it was all good.
And in the occasion I ended up in such a place, it made arriving home so much more special:

Woah. Seems someone remodeled when I was gone.

Well at least some things never changes.....

McDonalds still serves up some great happy meals. Happy Meals that any little person loves.

I must say, that I didn't get alot of work done when I was at Diva's childhood home.
"To much play", it seems. I was "moved" to another room so I could "focus".

I can't wait to go back. I will sneak off for an hour and return to the land of Little People...Where traveling is cheap, the food is good, and the dog never craps on the floor. It's a happy day in Little People World.

Did you play little people when you were little?

My sisters had the "remodeled" house you showed and the little wooden people. I loved them too! I didn't realize there were so many places for them to play!

Such good fun memories.

I love Little People. We played with them when I was young. I am going to ask my mother if she still has them, put away somewhere.

I was just doing some early shopping for my son's first Christmas, and there was a Little People farm. I know it's not that same as the original ones, but it brought back fond memories.

What a great post! Thank you. :)

I loved the silo that you could store everything in.

Hi it's the welcome wagon again, just to keep things interesting, I'll be randomly revisiting ALL the blogs in SSS. You can call it butt kissing too, just in case you have me as your partner, I want to make sure I've made a good impression.

A friend of mine saved all these "older" little people and she gave them to me last summer....they have provided endless hours of fun for both my girls. Matter of fact, they are scattered across my living room floor right this very minute!
