Happiness in a Muffin Cup

Remember my blue and black berry picking last weekend at Petals From the Past? This morning I made fresh lemon blueberry muffins. I mixed a lemon glaze for the tops and oh! They looked so happy. And they were soooo good! Which makes me happy.

Another thing that makes me happy-DEALS!
And I had to share another thrift store treasure....it's this candlestick base. I put my own candle on top. I thought it was so pretty and summery. I could always put a plate on top for a serving stand. It's a great deal for a buck 48!

Haha! I have that candle stand as well. It's from Southern Living at Home and I think I got mine free for having a party.

$1.48 is still a good price :)

The muffins look GREAT.

Is that a beeswax candle, or does it just have a texture that REMINDS me of beeswax?

Trina- I noticed that it looked like SL@H when I saw it. I was so excited. Yes-great price.

Trickie & Giants-I will share!

Keetha- Good eye. It is a beeswax candle. I love those kind and I have had the hardest time finding them.

I've seen two types of beeswax candles. One is like you have pictured, where the comb is wound around and around to form the candle (or is yours wound around the outside only of a candle?) In the other kind, which are my personal favorites and which we used to get at Old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC, the beeswax is melted down and then poured into the candle mold. This makes a soft, pale yellow/tan candle with the wonderful aroma of honey.

Keetha-My candle is from The Savannah Bee Candle Company (Savannah, GA.). It is 100% beeswax. Mine is the latter that you mentioned. And yes-smells like honey still. Delicious! And I love the texture.
