Five Favorites of Mine....

Pat at Back Porch Musings asked to list five favorite things. I read her list, I think it is asking more for five favorite material things. Otherwise, my list would be very different. So below is the list of my five different things. I'm asking anyone who reads this post, to post a list of their favorite things, if they like. It will be interesting to read your favorites.

My favorite things are:

1. My camera/photography. My camera is an extension of myself. Photography would include photos that I have taken of family and friends. These are precious to me. I also love photography from long ago. It gives such a sense of the past. I love photography from others. It is like owning a piece of someones soul. I find it very personal, a photograph, it is what you are seeing through the eyes of another.

2.. Things in my home with a story/history. It doesn't have to be an antique, though many are. I love owning a piece of history especially if it relates to my family. These things include furniture, jewelry, baby shoes, antique boxes, Christmas ornaments, even my children's artwork, etc.

3. Things from my travels that immediately take me back to a moment. It may be a book, a postcard, a Christmas ornament-even a t-shirt.

4. I have books that I had grandparents and great grandparents fill out and then return back to me upon completion. The books contained questions about family, history, ideas, events...these books are priceless to me. History in my hands to pass onto my children and their children...

5. Seashells that I have collected with my children. They evoke many fun times at the beach with my family. I have them displayed in mason jars, bowls, trays.... I love their beauty.

To list five is very hard. I know I sorta cheated with my vague answers, not listing a individual item, but I was honest. I gave it my best shot. So, what is your five favorite things?

Snark and Miss Bossy-if it were not material things, my list would have been completely different.
Bossy, I think it goes without saying, I dont eat to live I live to eat!
which is why I visit Thursday 's blog (below). YUM!

Thursday, I will do that!
Giants Fan- One of the reasons I love the holidays, unwrapping the decorations and recalling fond memories.

That book idea is intriguing. It sounds like a great way to capture family history. The questions probably jog a lot of memories, and then the person has a ready made place to write down the story.

We are so similar, except for number 4. I haven't ever done anything that brilliant with my family.

Be blessed.

Fabulous list, Leigh. I agree with you. Had it not been material things, my list would have been completely different, also.
