Thursday

Did you hear the thunder? It was such a welcome, gentle sound. The lightning flickered lightly in the distance. I actually went outside at 10 PM and just stood in the rain and let it fall onto my face. Sometimes it is the simple things that we overlook and forget how appreciative we should be. Of course, all of us in the south are in dire need of the rainfall. I would assume I was not the only one outside allowing the rain to kiss my face. I would assume that there were many doing a little raindance on their front lawn. Sadly, I don't think it is expected to last long. But for now, it is so beautiful and peaceful a sound and sight.....
Don't even think that Direct TV came yesterday. They have"such a heavy workload" and will try and get me in sometime "soon". Are you serious, Direct TV? I may end up canceling before I even pay the first bill. No! No go from Lowes as well. How can people remain in business and treat customers like this?......
I went to the Helena Christmas Parade Committee meeting last night. All is ready to go. This year I was asked to design the parade t-shirts. I turned in my design. I cannot wait to see how they turn out. I also have been given the task of designing the invitation. For some reason I find that more daunting, though it should be simple. I am hopeful that I will be struck with something exceptional..... (www.cityofhelena.org)
The photo above is of the turkey toss winners of 2002. My cousin Michael and his wife Christy took home the cash prize that year. The other photo is of me, trying to determine my throw. It is an art, ya know...there is the "quarter back throw", the "over the head toss" the "punt". I have tried all three to no avail. What is bad this year, I think I have bursitis in my shoulder. (http://body.aol.com/conditions/bursitis?sem=1&ncid=AOLHTH00170000000005 )It stinks. It could possibly affect my throwing this year. Although, I have yet to win the prize. I really want to bring home the cash! I am going to force the rest of my family onto the lawn this weekend to practise throws and techniques. This has to be our year.....

That's too funny. I'm sorry you were cheated of your victory.
