Today was the first day of fall. It was a bit humid, but I did see some rain. I am anticipating the cooler weather, bon fires, football games...My son's football team lost yesterday. I think he is taking it hard. My husband's team won, so he was a happy camper. Today my family gathered at my parents home to celebrate my mother's birthday. It was a nice evening. I always enjoy being with family. On our way home this evening my daughter announced that she was dissappointed because, she said, the weekend wasn't long enough. I agree.
The photo is of Sunday's sunset-September 23, 2007. It is sunset in Helena, to be exact-taken close to Bearden Farm on our way home from my parents. This sunset reminds me of the book, Uncle Wiggly, it was my mother's book as a child-that I inherited when I came along. I don't care how old you are, if you get the chance, read it-to your kids or yourself.
