I paid a visit today to my Pottery Barn store for some home decor inspiration. I love to change up the look of my home without spending any $$. But I do appreciate some expert inspirtion. I have several go to sources, as I see you all do too. I think we can all agree Pottery Barn is one of our favorites!

I saw this table and fell IN LOVE.

And then I realized why I love it so.......I have a similar table at home. It was made from an old beveled glass window with original hardware that was at my mother's horse barn. I couldn't stand for something to happen to it. My mother brought it home to me and we commissioned the help of a carpenter friend with our vision to create a shadow box table.

After the table was built, I filled it with some of my beach treasures, each attached with memories of beach combing and family hikes with my family. While my table currently lacks dividers like Pottery Barn's, I am happy with it's look.

And......the table as well as it's contents-all FREE!!
What's not to love?

Tablescape Thursday
Now, onto to Tablescape Thursday, which is hosted by Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

I mentioned my trip to Pottery Barn was to inspire me. I got just that in their beach inspired tablescape. It says SUMMER. And I LOVE it!

Everything on the table can be found at Pottery Barn....or other bargain stores if you just keep your eyes open!

I invite you to stop by my food blog, PLATES & PLACES to register to win in my giveaway of a five inch Le Creuset's Square Dish in my favorite color of Caribbean Blue! I have been wanting a shadow box table for twenty years. They had them everywhere in the late 80's in cherry. We remodeled our house 2 years ago and I have been looking high and low for one. When I saw the cover of Pottery Barn's summer catalog and I ordered it right away (and cruised their website for 4 hours). Love your table! It looks fantastic with treasures in it. So pretty!

Really like your shadow box table. I remember when Bombay Co. had them and I wanted one, but they were out of my budget back then.
Thanks for hosting again this week. :)

Shadow box tables are so much fun. You can change out the contents any time you get bored with the look.

Your tablescape is so colorful and earthy. It, too, exudes fun.

I would love to have you stop by the cottage and enter my giveaway of vintage goodies.

How great that you came home and found out you already had a workable table! :) I love it when things like that happen!

Your table is looking wonderful Leigh. I thought of you at a recent estate sale where the man had huge collections of shells, driftwood and hundreds of bottles of sand and ash from beaches and volcanoes all around the world. I did pick up some pretty driftwood and shells to put in a glass cookie jar this summer.

Hugs,
Dawn

I had a feeling my comment went Poof! I was commenting from my blackberry yesterday and I had a feeling it was all in vain lol

I have been dreaming of that Pottery Barn table in my house (I'd have to buy a new house to put it in though!) but I also think that something small like you did is awesome.

I love to take my camera to PB - they have such cool stuff.
