Thrifty Thursday-Plus a Tablescape

Welcome one, welcome all to Thrifty Thursday here in Bloggeritaville.
It's also Tablescape Thursday so it has to be a party! Tablescape Thursday is hosted by the ever gracious and lovely Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

If you are participating in Thrifty Thursday, be sure to grab yourself a Thrifty Thursday button and let's get started! For those that don't know, Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, antique store. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements. I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find. Tell me about it. Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found. So....do show and tell!
Again, this week I am going to combine the two for a "Thrifty Tablescape".
The fringed zebra print tablerunner was purchased a couple weeks ago at Hobby Lobby for $8.00. It was regularly priced at $39.00

The black and white plates were a trifty find from Treasures Thrift Store in Pelham. I bought an entire eight piece place setting for also $8.00.

The candlesticks were a bargain find from one of my favorite stores in Homewood, Harmony Landing. Each candlestick was $12.00. Regularly priced at $40.00. I would never pay that much for them, but at $12.00, I thought is was a good deal. They are so pretty and different. I like different. I think it gives an eclectic feel to the tablescape.

My framed painting came from Bombay Company (sniff, sniff...how I miss you). I purchased it for 50% off.

My curtains, I thought they were whimsical. They were used in an antique booth. I asked the dealer if I could buy them (they weren't for sale). She obliged me. She made them using scrap materials (using three fabrics). The rods are actually railing used for steps. She cut it in two. On the end, she had some funky chickens and put them on the ends.

The thing was, after I purchased the curtains, in a rush, I realized that I had another small window that needed to be dressed. Then, I remembered a black and white polka dot bed sheet I had. I grabbed it and literally stretched it across two window knobs (to pull back curtains). That was it. No, they don't match.....but I am a pretty low key person anyway. I don't sweat the small stuff....and my small window was certainly not worth fretting over.
It's not perfect, but really? What is? Besides I get tired of things quickly and like to mix it up. So, it worked.

My Italian bowl full that sits on my table is full of shells . They are treasures of family beach walks. We always save our shells and I pile them in bowls and glass jars around my home. It is a constant reminder of my favorite place to be...by the sea with my family. The bowl was a thrift store find. One of my favorite finds.

That's it! My Thirfty Tablescape!
I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by Bloggeritaville! I always enjoy having friends stop by. Be sure to leave a comment, whether you are participating in the party or not. That room is gorgeous! I love the whimsy of the curtains and the chicken on the curtain rods. How I miss curtains! We aren't hanging them in our rental and I miss the warmth that they add to a room.

Are the plates Mikasa? They look like a pattern Mikasa had in the eighties.

I am doing the tablescapes this week too. Nothing like yours, but sort of pretty all the same.

What unique dishes and what a bargain! And they can be used for so many other settings, too. The zebra runner is fun. I just adore the curtains, though. SO whimsical (love the combo of fabrics, too). The chickens/roosters on the ends are great. Love that! Fun thrifty tablescape. Way to go!

Hey Leigh.. I loved your curtains. I get so many ideas from you and so many others. I don't have a lick of design in my blood. My Mom and sister got it all, so I need all the help I can get.

OH! Meant to tell you, they are redoing my pics. Long story short, they sent them to a lab, I was the first one they had done that way, and in her words I was the last. She said that she had broke her finger that morning and her husband talked her into letting someone else do them. She said she apprecaited me letting her know. She had always done them herself. Talk to you later

Love your curtains - they were the first thing my eye was drawn too. What a great find on the zebra runner - every room needs a little animal print. Everything looks great!

Love the room! The seashells are my fav, I do the same thing, we collect them anytime we go to the coast and they are piled up in a glass jar in our bedroom, I like seeing it every morning and every night to remind me of the little things!

Leigh,
I always enjoy your posts and I love your Thrifty Thursday idea. Wonderful table, love the whimsy of the zebra runner (I could have used that a few weeks ago) and the Thrifty finds. You my dear are a good shopper. Curtins are darling, I love the idea of the three fabrics and your polka dot ties in so nicely. Oh I think I have rambled on. Happy Thursday.

When you mentioned Bombay I got all sad. I.loved.that.store! I had a big picture from there that I just made a chalkboard out of yesterday. I'll post about it soon.

What a great room. I love the curtains - you are good - buying the not-for-sale curtains :)

I had to Google the sniff sniff for Bombay Company -- I had no idea they closed their US stores. See how often I shop? I was clueless. But the painting is lovely.
