Thrifty Thursday # 61, plus a Tablescape

Hi! It's Thrifty Thursday! I am your host, Leigh. Thank you so much for stopping by and additional thanks to those who also participate in Thrifty Thursday! I am most delighted to have you join in..for it's YOU who makes it a "show and tell party". I also participate in Tablescape Thursday the host of that fun carnival is the Hostess with the Mostess...Susan of Between Naps on the Backporch. That's no lie or exaggeration, each week I visit Susan's porch and just long to be a guest at any of her tablescapes...especially those held on the porch.

(You can click on any pictures for a closer view)

*Thrifty Thursday takes place each Thursday and is hosted here at Tales from Bloggeritaville, but the party is a progressive one, visit the links to see all the Thrifty Thursday links to see the thrifty treasures participating bloggers have to share.

*Don't forget to copy and paste the Thrifty Thursday logo button to your computer so you can add it to your side bar and your Thrifty Thursday post. That way visitors will know that your are participating in Thrifty Thursday.

Well, Spring has officially sprung...it's in the air (literally, the pollen is terrible) and it's in the sales! Garage/Yard Sales I mean. They are plentiful this time of year. Last weekend my mother and I hit quite a few. I loaded up on clothing for my tween, Sister Sledge. I got her 2 pair of Lucky brand jeans (I dont even own any myself, I refuse to pay dept store price on them), many tops and a couple pair of shorts with brand names of  J Crew, Banana Republic, A&F & Ann Taylor Loft.
(You can click on the photos to enlarge)

The little navy peacoat is J Crew. My daughter wanted one so badly this past winter. I guess she will have one now for the fall! And my favorite is that teal Loft top with the floral fabric around the neckline. Precious!

All these were $1.00 each! I love that Payless slogan, "Why pay more when you can pay less?" It's true.
Had I just brought the 2 pair of lucky jeans I would've thought it a successful day. The others were bonuses.

I also purchased this pretty lantern and candle for $3.00. It currently sits on my back porch on the table for family suppers by candleight. Did I mention how I love this weather? I love that we can enjoy family meals outdoors.

Finally, this set of 8 glasses. They are intended for alcoholic drinks, I am certain. But my resident pirate, J Smooth, I knew would enjoy them. And they make perfect size glasses for him. I hate it when he gets a large glass from the cabinet, fills it full and then doesnt drink it...wasting OJ, coke...what have you. This will avoid that and he will LOVE these. Set of 8=$1.50

My off sense of humor finds it funny how they all have "poisons" on the side of the glasses.
"What's your pleasure?" Not arsentic. But J Smooth thinks it's funny.

That was my sale bargains. It's funny how one week you walk away with all clothes and the next you might find an outdoor patio set. You just never know.

Happy "Sale-in"!

Now, onto to Tablescape Thursday, which is hosted by Susan of Between Naps on the Porch.

My tablescape this week is a simple neutral one, using some of my favorite colors in nature: white and light blue. I used a natural grasscloth placemat. Glasses are light greenish blue.

I mentioned our eatting outdoors.
What is a tablescape without the food?
I invite you to stop by my food blog, PLATES & PLACES. Tomorrow I will announce a foodie giveaway...something you will want in your kitchen! Last week something came up and I forgot to post. I promise I will tomorrow! You can click here to find out more. You will NOT want to miss this one!

Great deals!! I am still waiting...or rather the people having the sales are still waiting for better weather. Still a little too cold out. I did love the days of buying clothes for the kids. The turnover is great I suppose!

Love your dishes. The pale blue is just dreamy. So glad you can eat outdoors already. And oh, I love the glasses!!

Hope all is well with you, Leigh! :-)

xoxo

Hi Leigh,
What great clothing finds for your daughter!! It's crazy to pay retail when you can find wonderful clothes with plenty of wear in them for $1.00.
The weather has been above normal here for a couple weeks and we have been enjoying some dinners outside. Love this time of year.

Wow! amazing bargains; clearly your yard sales are way snazzier than the ones around here ... fabulous buys! Sister Sledge will be thrilled, I should think!

Got a huge chuckle out of the glasses; I have a daughter who would love those, also.

Love the serene colors in your tablescape -- very dreamy looking!
