Outdoor Wednesday-Plus a Reminder!

Today is Wednesday and we all know that that means.....it's a great day to be outdoors! Or at last in spirit, as today in my neck of the woods we are expecting some thunderstorms. But this was not the case a couple weeks ago when my mother and I took off to Gadsden for an errand. We drove through Southside along the Coosa River enjoying the show that nature was putting on. It was as if Nature had kissed everything with Spring time goodness. It was just a perfect day! We drove past a log in the river and I shouted at my mom to stop so I could get out. Thank goodness she is used to that request after many years, quick on the brake so I don't miss my opportunity. I snuck down to the water's edge just in time to snap this photograph before all but a couple of the turtles dove into the water.
Actually four or five did jump in before I got them. I can't even imagine where they were sitting on that log, but I did see them dive in.
So? How many turtles do you count on that log? (you can click for a larger view)
Happy Outdoor Wednesday! To see more outdoor post visit our host, Susan at A Southern Day Dreamer!

I posted late yesterday on some giveaways over at some other blogs, so be sure to scroll down to see where you can enter.
I do want to mention my sweet friend at A Beach Cottage. She is having a giveaway. Be sure to check out her blog for her giveaway, as well as escapism. Love her beachy blog. Her photography puts you in a beach cabana.
Also in a post below, if you are playing Idol judge too, is my opinion of last night's American Idol performances. I do have to chime in on Dancing with the Stars! What a shocker!! I did not expect to see Lil Kim go home, I thought Ty had done his last two step, as much as I enjoy him. Seems I will enjoy his serenade around the dance floor a week longer. Smile. Such class and charm. I like a gentleman.

I want to remind everyone about Thrifty Thursday. I am so excited to show you all my loot from my garage sales last weekend, that I cannot stand it! Be sure to come back and link up to join in on the fun!
Thrifty Thursday is a show and tell of sorts. It is time for you to showcase your thrifty find. It can be an old find or a new one. It might be something that you found at a thrift store, a consignment store, flea market, garage/yard sale, dumpster diving, even antique stores. It's it was a thrifty find, then it meets the requirements.
I am not picky, It can be a great pair of boots & a killer vintage dress, jewelry, home decor, even fishing lures. It is your thrifty find. Tell me about it.Where did you find it? What is it? What do you plan to do with it or how do you plan to use it in your home? Do you want to sell it? Thrifty Thursday's are about the thrill of the hunt...and the treasure you found.
So....do show and tell! Be sure to grab a button and link back.
Don't forget to come back here tonight at 8PM and paste your direct hyperlink to your Thrifty Thursday post here at Mr. Linky.
Have a fabulous day, y'all!

What a great shot! I see at least 13, maybe 14 turtles. I do the same thing when driving - "Stop! I need to get a picture!"

Hey Leigh! I will do your Thrifty Thursday if you will join my sign party on Friday! I will be doing a "Here's your sign" party to show off our signs inside and outdoors!

I have been having writer's block lately, so you gave me a great idea! I am always talking about how my basement is like a great yard sale in itself... I will just have to post all of my goodies down there.

See you Thursday!
